Fantastic experience! Called the store looking for information to find 'unique' coins (hoping to make Easter egg hunt a little more exciting for pre-teens, finding money is cool, but finding unique money is even better!) I spoke to Louie over the phone and told him what I was doing. He was incredibly friendly as well as efficient, he understood what I was looking for quickly and invited me to come on in. I walked in and firstly the store environment is awesome. Clean, bright, well laid-out, but also love the smart aleck signs behind the register. It feels upscale like a jewelery store, but the staff were all friendly and welcoming so overall it is a great environment. Louie stopped what he was working on as soon as he heard that I was the customer who had called. I appreciate customer service like that. It's fine to be asked to wait a few minutes, but it's also lovely when a business shows their appreciation by tending to customers immediately. Louie went to the register and instantly started whipping out all kinds of unique money that was sold at face value, and got me set up within minutes. (I'm not American so I wasn't familiar with a few of the coins, and he quickly explained what each one was also.) I now have plenty of really awesome Easter egg treasures, and am so happy that I ventured out to this local business! Absolutely great experience and will definitely be returning as well as recommending this...
Read moreCoins are wayyyyy overpriced. I was told a standard 1oz silver American eagle was $40 when the spot price at the time of this visit was around $25.50. Junk silver was overpriced and as was every other coin whether it was silver or gold. Save your money and go to The Coin Market in Wilmington near Kerr Ave. Their prices at the time of my visit a few weeks ago for a 1oz American silver eagle was $34. If you want the best junk silver prices, give Archie’s Coins in rocky point a call and he will charge the lowest prices for junk silver of $20 per $1 face value. I hate to say it, but CJ Coins is way over priced and should consider lowering the prices to be a bit more competitive in the larger area. Too bad the locals on Jacksonville only have this overpriced coin shop to go to. Spread the word to make others aware of the coin shops in Wilmington and in rocky point who not only have the best prices but also are much more happy to see and...
Read moreI give this 5 stars. The guy there is really nice! I give this shop 5 stars because they provide a variety of different coins (Mostly U.S) to buy. I'm not too sure if they trade and buy coins since I have only been there twice. Another thing I like about the coin shop is the deals. You can get your hands on a indian head cent for under 30 dollars! Along with V Nickels, buffalo nickels, seated liberty dimes, barber coins, and more! They also sell proof coins, graded coins, dollar bills, and the Full Guide Book Of United States Coins in different years for what I've seen. Even though I'm 12, I've studied the coin shop and looked around enough to remember the things that are there. I'd think it would be cool if I got a tour of the shop! They also sell jewelry which provides people with watches, rings, necklaces, and a variety of different things. So I give this place a five star...
