Yesterday I had a pleasant shopping experience. I visited Roses on Western Blvd. Sure, on the outside it's a bit old... and it's awning needs a new coat of paint... but inside... it's a customer's store!! I admit I am a bit old fashioned. But customer service, a friendly smile, and a great variety of products still mean something to me. Even more so is the volume of products I found with "Made in USA" stamped on them!! Products were neatly displayed, and WOW!! what great choices for Christmas gifts! Twice I was asked if I could use any assistance finding anything... and once I actually needed that assistance and was highly appreciative. It wasn't a cattle call inside. I actually got to enjoy shopping and looking for ideas. No six million cameras making me feel guilty if I picked something up to look at before I decided to put it in the cart. No person standing over me at the door treating me as if I were a shoplifter after paying for my items and heading out the door. No automated cashiers making me ring up my own products and bagging them, to services I as the customer am not compensated for.... Instead, fully staffed registers, with a clerk, who actually smiled and thanked me for shopping!!! I LIKE THAT!! Prices throughout the store are extremely reasonable, and I found in several cases actually cheaper than the larger big box stores. Don't get me wrong... I realize we need all of them... the big box, the medium retailer, and the mom and pops. I just enjoy the medium sized retailer and the mom and pops more, and realize that more manpower means better service and more jobs in a community. I've never been a fan of automated tellers. But then again, I grew up in the 1960's when customer service, and a real cashier, and properly displayed merchandise meant something to the consumer. Thank You Rose's for a very positive shopping...
Read moreI was there this morning I tried on four tops in the dressing room when I heard a loud knock and yelling at the door for me to make sure I bring everything out of the dressing room don't leave nothing in there other customers heard this and said that they always think people are stealing so I put up everything and I left the store. I have been shopping at Rose's for years. I'm a older woman with a disability and I thought it was very rude to be talked to that way by somebody bamming on the door yelling at me to not leave anything in the dressing room I was minding my own business I was really shocked that this happened to me today. I don't know when I'll be back out there again. I get all my Christmas stuff for my family out there so I don't know when I'll be back. Customer service...
Read moreI just left there with nothing. Usually never happens. I brought my selections from the expectedly picked over Christmas items to the register. I asked the young lady if the items were ringing up at 75% off. She said yes, she thought so. I said 75% off $8 was not $3. She brought over a manager who questioned my request in an irritated fashion. One item clearly A Christmas thing, she deemed not so. At that point, with all the bad feelings in the air, I said that I really didn't need anything, thanked them and left. They yelled sarcastically"you're welcome" after me and I said "obviously not." I spend money in this store all the time because a dollar goes a long way. I overlook the lack of cleanliness and unsavory looking workers. I won't be back...
