Went and did the Batman room over the weekend, and it was Meh/Okay. There was more than one thing that didn't work right away or had a delayed reaction, which made it feel a bit janky. The escapology in Orlando had a similar issue but alot worse and the game master had to come in the room twice to make something work, which completely ruins the vibe. So it wasnt as bad as that, but it seems their technology is maybe starting to not work as good after being used so much. It definitely will be a lot more fun for new or less experienced escapers. There are a few things that you will end up having to use again for something else, which in the world of escape rooms is a no-no. That takes away the fluidity and movement an escape room is supposed to have. After going to places like The Bureau and similar establishments, you have higher expectations of what an escape room should look and feel like. Unfortunately, most places fall short of that. I think they could have utilized the space A LOT better. But it's hard to give a review wanting to be specific of the issues but not give it away for future escapers. The staff was nice, but our game master was not in character or like playing into the theme or role she was supposed to. Maybe because we were the last room for the night, but that shouldn't matter if that was the reason. She did a lot of uh, umm ,let me see, I think that's everything. Umm, umm, just trying to think if I covered everything. Which definitely didn't get me amped to do the room like we normally feel when we go to eacape rooms. Also, we didn't escape, but we were so close though. We made it right to the last part. Normally, the game master will show us what is supposed to happen, especially if we were just 1 or two moves from escaping. But she unfortunately couldn't trigger the win cause she couldn't remember the sequence. Lol
Alot of the reviews are from people who this is their first escape room experience. If you are someone like me who travels all over to do escape rooms, the high rating and high praise you most likely won't agree with, as most of these people have never experienced escaping before so they have nothing else to compare it to.
I just feel we have entered a new era of Escape Rooms and if you want to give people the most magical experience where they really feel like they are transported to the environment they are supposed to be in, they definitely need to switch some things up and be...
Read moreWe weren't quite sure what to expect when we came here for the first time and we originally wanted to do Mansion Murder but it was sold out, so we did Budapest Express instead. First of all, we loved the way the rooms are set up; they connect well with the theme and everything is so well put together. We've done several escape rooms and very few are put together so well and thought out. All of the clues actually made sense with one another, as in they don't dead end once you finish a clue and have to scramble for the next set. We actually did do Mansion Murder last night (and we're even going back tomorrow to do Narco) and we loved that one, too. We were amazed to discover that when you're in the rooms, it actually feels like you're in a different realty; you're integrated in the game in a way that most others don't put effort into. And a shout out to our primary game master TJ! She made some delightfully creepy noises that added to the experience. She has a very cheery disposition and a wonderful vibe and she's very helpful, nudging us in the right direction if we need it and don't need a hint. One of our favorite places to go. I always miss the woman's name at the front desk, but I know she enjoys The...
Read moreWe've completed several escape rooms in the area and nation and have yet to have an experience as difficult as this one. There were a few puzzles/tasks that when completed did not produce the result that was expected. A couple of times things would randomly open (i.e. remote operation) after we entered the correct code or combination a few times, which led us to think that maybe it wasn't completely reset properly (and after seeing us enter the correct info, remotely opened it). Some of the puzzles were in a sense way more difficult than needed, expecting you to have some type of knowledge that you would have expected to be on a card or display leading you to the answer, yet, instead, it's like you were expected to know it. This led to a lot of confusion and several clues. One for instance had an equation that when asked brought up numbers that we had no way of knowing without asking. We were excited based on several 5-star reviews, however, felt this room fell quite short of that. We do look forward to giving the place another chance with at least one or two other rooms, but if it's anything like what we just experienced, we...
