Went to the main event off Phillips Hwy in Jacksonville for my Daughters 7th birthday specifically for laser tag. She was measured by the attendants in the front where you pay for the packages where they measured her to play laser tag . I specifically mentioned that she looks to be a little short and the person said she was fine . I then stated to the person the only reason we are here is for laser tag and if she can’t play we are going to go some place else. I was assured by the sales person she would be able to play. we were then given the option for bowling and laser tag unlimited all day . I purchased three of those for like $22 and some change along with the max option for arcade tokens . So in total for just the games and fun I was charged $200 . After making those purchases we went to restaurant/bar to get food . Where we order pizza and a sampler . We got the pizza right away and it took 2 hrs for the sampler to get to us . Come to find out they canceled the order for not having the Brussel sprouts that went with the sampler . The server was very nice and apologetic and offered us a discount . At this point my child just wanted to go play laser tag so we decided to box up the food and just take it to the truck to go have a good time and eat later . I paid the tab for the food and we moved on to the laser tag where we were then denied Entry due to my daughters height . Which is what I told these people from the very beginning that I did not want to have happen. We went back to the front where we purchased the package at and asked for some sort of assistance. The girl that helped me was there and she asked for management to step in and assist . Once the manager arrived, I very calmly expressed my concerns about my families experience since we have been there and I was met with a very sarcastic and rude person who immediately said we don’t give refunds which is not what we were looking for at that point in time . I said to her but now that you lead off with that we don’t want to spend anymore time here . She then double down and said we don’t do refunds and we don’t have to say we don’t do refunds because we are a private institution. I let her know that we are here for my daughters birthday and She then tried to back track and offer my kid who has a peanut/tree nut allergy ice cream and brownies .which does nothing for her since she can’t eat that stuff. She then stated she would make an exception for my kid to play laser tag . I was willing to be flexible but once that manager stepped in and was sarcastic rude and impatient person. we no longer wanted to do business with main event . She then gave me a card to a person that was a general manager but said he is not here and even if I call i would still not get my money back because he is off and will not answer the phone . She then asked me if I “needed anything else “from her. I said yes would you please stand here while I try and call the manger and she said “ my job is not to stand here” so then I got rude and said well what is your job then because it doesn’t seem like you want to help . And she said to me to she was going to “ remove herself from the situation” and I left . So if I will never be back to this place the . They took me for $200 and made me wait 2hrs for food . With that being said the pizza was good but not worth the $100 tab. So all in all I feel like a got taken for $300 on my daughters Birthday. And in todays day and age with how expensive everything is I was splurging financially to give my kid a good Birthday where she got nothing from this place . Which makes me very upset . I will warn everyone this place will not work with you and they have a very rude manager who acted like she didn’t even want to be there or help me . Save your money and do...

Let's begin with walking in and waiting for the "greeters " to stop hanging out and address us, I said we're interested in the advertised meal and game combo in which he hurriedly ushered us to the Game Kiosk and left us there saying this is way easier and walked away......😒 My friend waited behind us because the other kiosk was broken😑......then we went to stand in line to secure a table....again....after waiting for the 3 young girls to stop chatting with their backs to us, they finally turned around and I asked for a table. She said they don't have any tables available because they only have 2 servers.......mind you, ......... this is a SATURDAY NIGHT and also not our problem that they're short staffed. I asked how long and she said "I don't know, probably like, an hour or way longer.".... she then proceeded to explain how many tables her servers are stuck with,....again....I'm a paying customer, not my problem.
We tried to play Air Hockey, the table took our money both times and that's all it did.....because it was broken 😤 My son went to two different games.....also broken. There was water or something all over the floor and staff literally walked around it! 😐 The one air Hockey table we were able to get to work was barely working and my son literally had to stand in the middle and push the puck to my opponent because it was barely vibrating. Since it was going to be impossible to be seated because of their HUGE wait at their empty and short staffed seating area, we asked an employee if we could just get a soda while we played games. He said we can "try" the bar or go back to the dining area (which remember is slammed🙄) and just walked away.....
This place is extremely undermanned, unmaintained, various broken games, dirty and unorganized and every single person we encountered as customers shirked every duty or opportunity to help us and was more focused on chatting with their friends or chucking a generic answer to us and making no concessions or ATTEMPT at any SEMBLANCE of customer service!!!!!! As angry as I am about wasting my time and money that I'll never get back and the dismissive, rude and clueless staff, my blame first lies on the owner and management, if you want to call it that!
It is YOUR responsibility to hire capable and professional staff and train them to be accommodating, informative and helpful......this is a PUBLIC FAMILY PLACE! Customer service is a MUST! Secondly, it's the manager's duties to assure the establishment stays clean, well manned and the equipment is maintained and operable. This place is a disappointment on every level! Take pride in where you work and your responsibilities regardless of what job it is! Have some standards that aren't BARE MINIMUM...
Read moreIf i could give 0 stars i would. I feel like we were not given what was promised to us. I dont think that the experience was at all good. We had the room for an hour. Which the lady gave us 15 more minutes then the 15 minutes they said because we were trying to decorate. The lady did help decorate and stuff, but we did feel rushed. We had to walk from half the parking lot to the room and back and half way decorate which made us waste majority of our decorations. The lady i booked the room with said we can bring drinks in. And i believe on the paper it said unlimited drinks in the package of 10 for 10 kids and if there wasnt 10 kids we can use the adults. When i told the host that she said no. I immediately was pissed. Because this wasnt worth $500. There wasnt enough games either, everybody was coughing, standing, standing in line for games, breathing over the person who was playings shoulder. The bathroom was DISGUSTING, there was no paper towels, toilet paper and soap in most of the stalls and sink. Toilet paper all over the ground. I waited about 10 minutes to buy water from the counter and they charged me $7.50 for 2 Zephyrhills water bottle. I was upset. We couldnt even walk out of the rooms because there was soo much people blocking the area to get in it. And once that hour was done we had to rush to take our things out in front and then take them to the car. Like i WOULD NEVER recommend this for anybody. I have no pictures of the room, of the cake, or small decorations we put up BECAUSE it was so rushed. I couldnt even sit down to relax and the lady just stood there rushing. Why is lazer tag in the bundle when they have to be 4 feet? THEN she didnt even know the packages. She’d go tell me one thing then come back and say another. Lady was nice, but also handling our food put some gloves on man. Only time she put gloves on was cutting the cake. Not bringing the pizza in, not putting my daughters candles in. Although i love that they did have candles when i didnt have them. But instead of handing me the candles she definitely leaned over the cake and just started placing them IN my cake. For $515 & some change? I wish i went to dave and busters and paid way more than this. The lighting was okay, and the music was JUST soo loud, the lady who planned this with me told me that i shouldn’t have loud music playing but the host kept the door open. And i closed it because i didn’t want to hear everybody and the loud music outside of the room. We had $300 worth of decorations to put up and couldn’t even do $50 worth to put up....
