This has to be THE worst hotel I have ever stayed in...and I've stayed in some real stinkers. For starters they advertise that there is a pool, and technically there is one. But it's closed and drained. They don't tell you that when booking but it is indeed closed. No big deal as we didn't come to swim in their pool...but it would have been used though if it were open. Then, upon checking into our first hotel room we find one of the beds looks tilted on one end...like the frame was broken. Whom ever was in it last shifted the box springs off the frame and caused the entire bed to be shifted off. The house keeping HAD to have noticed it as it was VERY obvious. I've worked in hotels and this was inexcusable. Regardless the wife and I worked to get it put back on the rails and just let it go. We also noticed a big hole in the wall where the chair obviously was pushed against the wall too hard. Then when we started getting the kids ready for bed we noticed the sliding door to the bathroom was off the rails. I tried to put it back on its track but couldn't and at that point just gave up and went to the front desk. They moved us to a new room and it too appeared to be ducktaped together. The AC unit wouldn't close all the way and rattled badly when it runs. The bathroom door was badly damaged and they used I'm guessing sheetrock mud to patch around the split near the door knob. It barely would shut. On top of that the cleaner I'm guessing unplugged the fridge. We didn't notice it at first because it was still cold when we got into the room lastnight but the next day noticed the fridge stopped cooling stuff and there was water under it. The food we put in it ruined. We had to move the entire wood unit housing the fridge and microwave from the wall so we could get to the plugs only to find where they plugged it in only had 2 spots but there were 3 plugs (microwave, fridge and lamp). Also, one bed didn't have a blanket and we were missing towels. So when I asked for a blanket and towels I was told that there aren't enough as they are on back order and likely won't happen...lol. They did bring a blanket back to the room but no towels...lmao. I have never stayed in a cobbled together piece of garbage hotel room like these...ever. These standards were not even what I would consider sub-par. Pathetic. Do NOT waste your money or your time. These aren't even the rooms to think to yourself: "hmmm, we only need a bed for the night". Your car is 1000 times better...trust me. The dumpster on site is even better. I didn't get a picture of the first bed because I had no idea what trouble we were getting into. But as you can see the other door knob is jacked up and that hole in the wall from the chair...

Traumatizing. A brief overview front desk lady made me uncomfortable, so uncomfortable I didn’t want to ask for more towels, shower and room were unclean. lastly, the resolve for Sparky outlet was an extension cord. We stayed from May 1 to May 6. My room number was 214. For those of you who stuck around to continue reading the front desk lady was immensely annoyed that I was checking in. Made it very clear to me that I was unwanted on her property. I happened to ask her if she was the manager. She said she was the assistant supervisor. We’ll get to that in a minute. I only had two towels for my family of five for five days. There was a forehead smudge on the long mirror that was not from any of us and equate sticker that had been stuck to the shower wall for long enough to leave dirt trail behind it. I could have probably wrote my name in the build up on the shower walls. Two piles of dirt behind the door as if the cleaners never fully close the door to completely clean the floor. I tried to go to the front desk personally Tuesday night there was nobody there. I called the front desk and I heard the phone ring saw the phone ring on the front desk counter. Nobody came to pick it up. Room service was per request but I was too uncomfortable to call the front desk to request one when I did call the front desk the next day to resolve the check-in issue a Gentleman answered the phone and I asked the name for his assistant supervisor. He then tells me that there isn’t one, but then suddenly finds her so I don’t know who’s lying but I was definitely lied to. And then, when the mysterious assistant supervisor came on the phone, she was combative. She was not trying to resolve any issue or take any responsibility for the way she checked me in I did hang up on her. this made me feel really uncomfortable to leave any of my precious belongings behind Never have I ever experience feeling unsafe in a hotel. My husband tried to plug in his laptop and he said that the outlet sparked like a sparkler three times. He called the front desk and informed them they promptly sent a maintenance man who provided us with an extension cord instead of a new room also informed us that we were missing a lamp, but never came to give us the said missing lamp. Ramona, you can do better if you’d like to resolve this please reach out to me And for anyone, considering staying here don’t for the love of God, we could have died in a hotel fire.

The room was so filthy the poor roach in the bedside drawer didn’t even make it. The moment we walked in you can smell the odor of filth. We checked the fridge to find discarded food in it and the freezer showed signs of mold. I checked the AC filters to find them clogged and so I cleaned them out. The AC grill was so filthy it blackened the wash rag when I attempted to clean it, so I just left it off the unit altogether and cleaned the AC intake and output screens and sprayed Lysol. The mattress was broken (yes, broke), you can place your fist in the center of mattress, and it went all the way to the box spring. We found stains on the mattress cover and mattress. The place was full, so the manager moved us to another room 2 nights later and issued a discount for one night (gee thanks). The next room had a better mattress, but we found something we didn’t see in our other bathroom which was a toilet plunger. Well, you don’t need to guess why it was placed there. No matter what business you’re doing, you will need the plunger as the plumbing was bad, so it was needed to flush constantly. The pool didn’t look at all like it was maintained. The breakfast buffet was ok (even like a Shoneys type). The staff were nice and pleasant (including maintenance who were accommodating). But you can tell that management does minimal to maintain the place, applying Band-Aids on every problem and probably collect bonus’ at the end of the year. The hotel experience leaves us to believe Jacksonville is not a good vacation spot and look at better places to go in FL. Most hotels in the area carry about the same reviews and experiences which is sad.

I want to start this review by saying the issues we had were NOT with the staff. Every member of the staff we interacted with was great, and I highly doubt any of them were in charge of the decisions that created issues for our party. The staff is honestly the only reason my rating is as high as it is.

Now with that said, we did have a number of issues with our stay. For clarity, I want to emphasize that we made our reservation by calling the hotel directly - NO third party sites were involved in our transaction whatsoever.

First, the bed size. We requested a room with two queen beds. The confirmation email we received specified we would receive two queen beds. At the front desk, they confirmed we were staying in a room with two queen beds. In fact, I can't find a listing on their site for any beds smaller than queen. My husband and I sleep on a queen bed every night. I do not believe for one second that the beds they provided us were queens. Granted, I didn't have a measuring tape on me at the time, but I'm fairly positive they were actually full size beds. This was especially problematic because we booked the room for three adults, with the intention of my husband and I sharing one of those beds. Let's just say, we were not able to get a good night's sleep during our stay. We got in too late and too tired to make a fuss about it at the time, but it's still not okay. We would have made different arrangements if we knew.

Related to the beds were the pillows. They were weirdly small. Most of the pillows we initially received were square - slightly larger than a throw pillow - and lumpy. Was this to make the beds look larger? Not sure, but definitely didn't help our attempts to get a good night sleep after being on the road for about 9 hours.

As noted above, we booked the room for THREE adults. This was noted in our reservation, our confirmation email, and again at the front desk. We were provided two towels and two washcloths. Yes, we were able to request extra at the front desk, but I would think we wouldn't have to. Common sense would dictate that you would provide, at minimum, one towel and one washcloth per person. Even if you don't stock them in the room by default, AT LEAST provide the additional towels needed when guests check in, yeah?

The screen for the thermostat was broken and unreadable. We had to guess through trial and error to figure out what to set the AC to. The air quality in the room wasn't great either. Wet and mildew-y.

For the last point, I'll note that it's been quite a few years since I've stayed in a hotel, so this may be a policy change I missed somewhere along the way. We stayed for two nights, and housekeeping did not visit our room to clean it during our stay. We didn't put up a do-not-disturb sign or anything. They just...
