Today my experience at the only Aldi store I jefferson city mo was fine until I asked a associate how do you enter a qty. I had 2 cases of vegetables. And I wanted to know how to put in a quantity instead of scanning. Twelve cans of green beans and twelve cans of peas. When the associates came over to me and I asked her that question of how to enter a quantity. She snatched the can of green beans out of my hand and turned the key on the register and enter the quantity so quickly that I didn't have a chance to tell her that I had already scanned. One can of green beans. And I said I already scanned one can.. She said to me. I can see that you don't have to tell me that it's on the screen I see it. I just simply handed her one can of peas and said I have 12 of these. And she said, you don't have to tell me that you have 12 cans of peas. I can see that you have 12 cans of I peas. I work here. And she was being disrespectful to me like i was bothering her. I have worked in customer service since I was 18 years old. If I was her boss, and her boss is name happens to be Courtney, I would fire her on the spot.. If I go back into that store and she's there. I will confront her.. Courtney the manager was not on duty at the time but I went back into the store and talked to a guy in charge . that said he was the manager on duty. I did not tell him about the incident.. This upset me greatly. I don't appreciate being talked to like that. I am 54 years old, and she's probably 18. So she needs to tone it down say yes, ma'am, thank you. And Have a nice day instead of being snippy and unprofessional you, better get it fixed. This happened on Sunday October...
Read moreAldi as a company is greatly misunderstood. Here you'll find surprises like wines with 90+ ratings, award winning products, and imported food and drink. Aldi has items like Italian Olive Oil, Belgian chocolates, and German food, and drink. Shelf space is usually dedicated to seasonal items such as holiday decorations in the Winter and gardening items (including live plants/trees) in the Spring. Aldi offers lower prices than average through a unique business model that some may find disorienting on their first visit. For example, you will need to insert a quarter to unlock a shopping cart. Once returned, you can reclaim your quarter. Also, Aldi encourages waste reduction via re-usable bags by charging a small fee for paper and plastic bags. The staff has consistently been both friendly and efficient. The only downside is the store often feels crowded during peak shopping times. Perhaps it is only my perception but this location feels smaller than newer Aldi stores in neighboring...
Read moreAldi's has a different plan from the big grocery chains; carry a limited selection and move a lot of it. A typical Aldi's store carries around 1500 items to say, Wal*Mart that might carry 10 times the selection. Their food quality is generally quite good, and the smaller variety keeps prices low. We shop there when we need to bulk up, and enjoy that we can get in and out more quickly than a big store.
For those that have never shopped Aldi's, they sell paper bags, plastic reusable, and cloth reusable, and also sell freezer tote bags if you want them for cold goods. There are usually boxes available, as well, this is a bag-your-own store, to save you time and money. You'll need a quarter to unlock the...
