AVOID THE DISRESPECT AND PRICE GOUGING The lack of customer care is appalling. On 2/10/24 @ 2:30 pm, Alyx in the floral department tried to price gouge me and Eric the assistant store leader backed her up. I was buying a pre-arranged bouquet from one of the many boxes of flowers scattered all over the store, a clear vase, and a mylar balloon. I simply asked a very nice lady named Rebecca (who was awesome by the way) to cut the stems down, add 2 sprigs of baby's breath, and wanted to tie the balloon to the vase. Total cost of items came to $37.98. Rebecca did as i requested. Upon time to print out the label that would include all items, since the vase had to be dug out of the back room, Alyx came up and informed Rebecca that she must add a 1.6 multiplier (40% markup) to the total. Which brought the total to almost $60! When I asked what the hell the 40% markup was for, Alyx very rudely it was for labor. I asked how she thought she could justify that, where that was posted, and how I was supposed to know that since no one had informed me prior to using a pair of scissors to cut the stems and adding 4 oz of sink water and told her out of the 25+ years being a customer I had never heard of this nor been charged this. I requested a store manager be paged and Eric, the Assistant Store Leader approached me. I explained the situation and inquired why I should pay a 40% markup when the hourly employees that are already being paid to be there, and it literally was less than 1 minute of time, and Eric looked me dead in the eye and said it was because it was Valentines and that's just what their markup is today. I pointed out that there was no indication of this being a requirement posted anywhere to inform customers of this "labor" charge, to which he responded " I'm not going to overrule Alyx, she said it needs to be charged, and it is Valentines season, so either you pay it or we will put the "arrangement" in the refrigerator case to sell at that price." I told him I refuse to price gouged or talked to that way, asked for the store number to make a formal complaint to corporate, thanked Rebecca for her time, and went right down the road to another kroger. The other location was mortified to hear my experience at store 374 and verified this was not a corporate policy. I bought the exact same pre-arranged bouquet and vase, had them cut and dropped in the vase just like at the other store, and was charged $25.97. The exact same items were even less! I'm waiting to hear back from...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet me just start out by saying I have never liked this Kroger. I only go there if I forgot something at H-E-B. My complaints are endless but I will highlight a few, not in particular order, except for *1. *1. Today I was looking for round steak š„© (my husband forgot it when he went to H-E-B). I didnāt find any packaged other than thin cut. I went to the butcher who was not very helpful to the guy in front of me. Clue- I was about to experience the same thing. I was right. When I asked if he had round steak that was either not thin cut or could he cut some fresh. He just said āNoā. Typical Kroger imo from experience. *2. Dirty store - the store is cluttered when you first walk in. Unorganized and stuff everywhere. *3. Small baskets- I think there are probably 5 small baskets total, which are RARELY available. H-E-B has probably 50, therefore 99% of the time one is available. *4 A Biggie - During Covid I was in Kroger for, you know that item I must have forgotten at that other store. I was near the bakery š§ and walking towards the checkout when I noticed a tall man of color with a Dollar Tree bag shoving things in the bag in the pharmacy area. We met eyes and he just continued doing what he was doingā¦ā¦STEALING! I stopped one of the cashiers as she was walking towards me and I told her that man was openly stealing. Her answer- āI know. We are told to leave them aloneā. I looked at her in shock and replied, āDoes that mean I can grocery shop and bring my own bags and walk out, without fear of being arrested for not paying for my groceries?ā She had nothing to say. At that point I lost all respect (if I had any left) for Krogerās. It would do this area (and my ā¤ļø) good to have H-E-B take over this store. By the way, open theft would NEVER have happened at H-E-B. They had security at every entrance/exit...

They have everything that I need here: my groceries, pharmacy, etc. Great location for me to easily access, at least if it's not during rush hour or on the weekend, then it's a little more difficult. But, I'm usually pretty satisfied when I shop at Kroger. Some locations have had some less-than-professional employees, and after customer surveys & feedback from lots of customers, those employees were eventually replaced, but this location hasn't had that problem. Only thing is that sometimes they don't have the medication I need, so I have to go hunting all over town for it, otherwise I'd have to wait a week or more for them to order it. But, the medications I take are actually hard to find at most pharmacies, so it's not just this Kroger. Usually only larger pharmacies or 24 hour pharmacies have the medications I need... Anyway, I'm very satisfied shopping at this Kroger! When I've needed assistance with finding something, I've always been treated quite nicely and helped in a courteous and professional manner. Good people work here at this location! And that makes all the difference! I think it's because we're kinda out of the city and on the fringes between the city and the country, so it's a nice neighborly & friendly place to live where people treat one another with respect and common courtesy. It's kinda like country values in a small city environment. And not just any type of country values; it's Texas country values. There's a big difference! I love my neighbors and I love...
