Top Donuts — Restaurant in Texas

I had a bad experience. I worked overnight by this place and would take a late "lunch" to go here. I haven't been in a while and was near by so I looked it up to see when they open it said 5:30am on google. So I get there and its closed I decide to wait because I understand your running late or you decide to open later ok it is your business you can do what you want. So she opens at 6 and the posted sign outside the door says it opens at 6am. I wasn't going to say anything until I seen that. So I say good morning and I ask her if she knew that on google it says she opens at 5:30 and she immediately became defensive and said yeah but I decided to open later in a very rude way and proceeded to have an uninviting look on her face and acted like I was bothering her. When I'm supporting your business. Just to let you know it is very inconvenient for your customer to have to wait for you to open after they make plans to get to your store according to your posted business hours that you are aware of by the way. I was willing to look past that but then you became hostile and that is the reason why I will not go...

I just got home from grabbing donuts and had $25 cash on me. The order was $25.99 total and when I laid $25 on the table and started reaching for my card, she waved me off and said ‘No sir, thank you for your business!’ I was surprised and felt a bit embarrassed because I know Top’s is individually owned, but she insisted so I let her know id grab her a dollar later, with an absolute smile on my face.

The best part was, getting home and opening the box just to see that she had decorated the top of the donuts with donut holes, which weren’t ordered, but they weren’t in a separate bag, they were in the middle of the donuts and it made me Feel like this is the service I miss and the service that is so unexpected when going to a business. You can’t afford to do extra, yet you do anyway… The logic is completely service minded and is the reason why someone wouldn’t go anywhere else. Thank you so much for delivering Exceptional Service Always. I owe you more than a dollar, because this is the kind of box you open when you get home where you smile and show your kids what Service...

I ordered doughnut holes and a strawberry doughnut. Also pork egg rolls. The doughnut holes were OK the strawberry doughnut was a little on the stale side. Mind you I went at 830am too. The miniature pork egg rolls were really good a tad overpriced for their size. Dense with good flavor. Enjoy going in and looking at the different things they have to offer that aren't doughnuts. Furniture, antique items and brick -a- brack oddities. The owner is also pleasant...
