Funbox isn’t new but the bounce structure is different than the outdoor one. It’s fresh, it’s clean and full of fun.
Christina and her staff from the check in area to the team members throughout the facility were friendly, kind and helpful . I really appreciated the young man that was monitoring the “walk on the smiley face obstacle “ area on Thursday 9/4 around 5pm. He was clapping and congratulating them as they completed their try. I think that is so important to have that type of behavior and energy in a child atmosphere.
The restrooms are cute and clean. It is setup at a good height for the youth. I do not like that it is kind enclosed and behind the bounce structure and close to exits. I understand that the space was used for another polar place company so they used already existing restrooms but it’s just a bit unsafe.
I love the colorful structure and wall design throughout the facility and party rooms. Let’s talk prices and frequency . As a parent of younger elementary children, the prices are two high for an hour and a half. $19 before tax will get them in because it’s new, the grand opening specials will get people in for week days parties. After the first visit, the price for an hour and a half , I would not be back due to having two kids . Almost $50 dollars spent for that time span is not worth it. Also, the grand opening weekday party prices are worth it. The weekend prices grand opening and regular are not . Again a limited amount of time and if you really dive into the details the party prices, weekend -10 jumpers for grand opening $349(reg $449) . Regular :$200 of that is for them to jump. $249 to have the room. No food is included. Now I love that you can bring your own food but for those prices especially the regular, I feel food should be able to brought and they should include something too. I think if it’s 20 jumpers for the $349(reg $449) that’s a better deal for...
Read moreTickets: Bought tickets a while back Glad I did, I mean 2nd day opening its going to be full. They only let people in with tickets that have been purchased online which is smart since it would be a safety issue due to how many kids that were already in. guy infront was okay, he was straight to the point and there was barley any line. Inside: Knew this places when it was monkey joe will miss it but inside was colorful and had a mini arcade somthing i didnt really expected but was nice. 20min = 25 for a arcade card which i guess is not bad. Tables: Tablet are fine but since it was the 2nd day there were barely any tables left but there were seats on the side Parties: They are already doing parties which surprised me the room look decent they are small for me at least since we have a big family but price wise I saw like 490? Might be wrong so check Now the big bounce thing: It basically take like 80% of the place but dont worry from what I can tell even though it has a main entrance there are still side exist on the big trampoline making me feel at ease knowing if im far from the entrance there is still a side I can go to leave for emergency. Food: I wont lie i was kinds disappointed there wasn't an area to get at least pizza cause after a while my brother's did end up getting hungry and from what I can tell there were just 2 vending machine's at least I think they were but that was it kinda sad since it was just there maybe add some more so I do recommend bringing a bottle of water for your kids and maybe a small snack incase they get hungry. Workers: At least for me they were nice and were on it if there was a missing kid Kids: Please keep in mind since its barely opening its full so do keep an eye out i got scared when i thought I lost my brother he just walked behind somthing and before I knew it he was gone luckily his a smart kid and went to my mother once he...
Read moreIf you don't want to read it all, long story short, DO NOT take your little children to Funbox Houston. Address below rant. NOT a place for tiny children. I get people having a good experience if their child is like 7, but 7 and up.
Their selling points are "living out childhood dreams" and "I'm going to be a kid again" that's because there are full blown adult playing around BABIES.
If you have toddlers or small children, I WOULD NOT recommend taking them to the new Funbox place that opened up where Monkey Joe's used to be on 529 and hwy 6. It is SCARY like a war zone. No regulation. Ages ADULT rough playing with as young as 1 year Olds, kids diving and smashing into each other or through the play zone as if there aren't tiny babies, people yelling at me (because I was upset and said to two 20ish aged men that were pushing each other on a child's play area that there are tiny children right behind you please be careful) that they are just having fun and to go somewhere else, no staff members regulating this, but instead, laughing about the chaos and carrying on conversations in their own world, allowing 8 and up in a 5 and under area. It was all in all an absolute no for me. The intercom called multiple times for kids parents to come to the front and described the clothes of that child or the name of the child who they were looking for the parent.
And yes there's a small play area [SMALL] for babies, but what good is it if they let older kids in there to rough house also where we still don't feel save letting our little ones...
