I used to live in another state and had the Regal Unlimited pass, and its much better. It's truly unlimited movies, only caviat is 90 minutes between start times.
I go to the movies quite a bit, far more than the average viewer so there's alot I'll put up with but if there was a Regal or better AMC closer, then I would never step foot in this location.
They always show previews for these really good looking movies, even advertise them in the app, but then either have super limited show times or none at all. When I first started using my A-List pass it was $19.99 for 3 free movies per week, and about 6 months in it went to $23.99 for 4 movies per week. Still a great deal on paper, but when you limit what movies are shown so badly, then most weeks I cant even do 4 movies so it didn't really help me much to give the extra free movie per week.
There's two dedicated lines for concessions, one for AMC A-List customers, and one for the regular casual viewers. The line is there as an added benefit for the A-Listers to not have to wait. The problem is, more often than not, I still have to wait to be served after people in the regular line. Occasionally is one thing, but its every time.
Another added benefit when the price increased was that you upload a profile picture so that you dont have to show additional forms of ID. I still get the staff always asking to see my ID and when I point out that I have a profile picture so I dont need to give my ID, they look so confused.
The drink machines rarely work correctly. There's 5-6 of them and there's always at least a couple of them with some kind of issue so it makes the wait times unnecessarily longer. Not to mention, the sodas usually don't taste right anyways...there's only a couple of them I can drink because of this.
The movie screen rooms tend to have so many random issues. A couple of them the sound is too low, one of them the sound is way too high, went to a movie a couple of weeks back and the curtains that run down the sides of the screen were so badly misplaced that you could see the strings that were holding the screen up for its display, a few weeks ago I went to see Shin Godzilla and with about 15 minutes left in the movie there was a loud bang followed by the speakers going out and the screen shutting off, there's multiple seats in each room that dont recline even though they are supposed to, etc.
A few months back I went to a movie and afterwards my wife got off work so we went out to eat. I couldn't find my wallet when it was time to pay so I started retracting my steps. I called this AMC to see if anybody had turned my wallet in. The person on the phone asked for details of the wallet and contents inside, which I obliged to, and the person confirmed my wallet was there. I asked what to do, they said just to come to the cashiers in concessions and they'll get it for me. I was there maybe 20 minutes later and the person who I came across said my wallet wasn't there. When I mentioned I was told it was and by who, she went to the person and he told her that he told me that it wasn't there, she asked him something and he looked at me, rolled his eyes, and said "no, that's not true. I did not say that" and walked off.
The popcorn is rarely fresh, and there's been a few advertised speciality concessions that I'll inquire about, get told its coming soon, and end up getting told on another visit that they weren't getting that special.
I've used the app to order concessions twice and both times it just was never made. One time was in the middle of a movie and I decided I wanted a hot dog so I used the app, selected the time, and went out there but nothing was ready. The other time I was leaving work and headed to my movie that I reserved in advance, I was running behind so I ordered my food and drink through the app to be ready for pickup 5 minutes after the start of my movie. I was running behind so I was okay with the available time but wanted to keep myself from being even later for the start of my movie but low and behold, my concessions...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent to see special showing of Labyrinth (Bowie, @ 1986), 7ish on a Wednesday. First time in a theater for approx a decade. I've heard tell of the leather recliners, (with seat warmer) they've installed. And, that there is now a bar in the lobby- my kids added that it was only rumored to ever be open. Last night was apparently my daughter's 1st chance to purchase drinks. It'll probably be last. $18 for 1 well drink in a cup approx. size of redsolocup, you could taste the alcohol on first sips, but said she never really felt it.. Seemed clean enough; friendly staff, though few of them; no problems with tickets, seats, film or sound; comfort Level better than expected. So good in fact, she had to wake me because I was snoring āŗļø Theater prices have always been ridiculous, I know this. But at least it was edible the last time I went. They filled a large popcorn bucket & handed it to me to butter/salt myself at the other end of the counter. This area was a MESS. And dark. So you really couldn't see what you were doing. The salt shaker needs no shake, it just pours through those little holes- but you can't see that so you don't know til you take a nibble. And don't bother trying to mix or shake it up. I wore A LOT of popcorns. So did my seat. They now have the super Coke machine's, which I actually like. Cup size was sufficient & soda tasted good. But only 2 out of 4-6 machines were working. My warning here relates to the weakness of the cup & the lid. I don't pick up drinks like this from top- to much experience with that faux pas- but from the side, nearthe top. Every single time I picked up my cup, lid popped off. Worst instance occurred when disembarking from my daughter's vehicle, luckily I was home ... And my pants are apparently super absorbent. I think I have just aged out of enjoying going out to the movies. But if you still enjoy it, i guess I recommend this, our only 1st run theater,as a good...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been going to this theater for many years now but it seems as though it is going downhill, or maybe when I went last night it was just a really bad night. I went out to the lobby 3 different times to get a different drink and never even got a decent one. Every drink I tried was flat and there was only one machine that had any ice coming out and it was very slow and intermittent. They were also out of vanilla syrup for the drink machines and some of the machines were even out of multiple different drinks, making the choices very slim pickens. During one of the previews, the sound went out which was disappointing because it was actually a preview that I wanted to see. I ended up asking for a refund for my drink because of all the trouble I had with them and I will give them credit for not giving any issues about it. There's also a window up at the front entrance that has a huge crack. Surely they can afford to fix that considering what it costs to see a movie here and the revenue they are making off of food and drinks. It just looks bad and makes the place seem run down. The lobby area by the drink machines was also very dirty which is unacceptable when you first walk in to the lobby and see several employees all huddled up and hanging out. It seems as if there wasn't a manager working last night or if there was, they also weren't doing their job. The bathrooms were dirty and the floor underneath the seats when you recline them are filthy too. It costs 2 of us $65 to see a movie, buy 1 large popcorn and 2 drinks. I'm very disappointed with my experience last night especially considering what it costs. This will be my last visit at AMC JC and from now on I will be driving to the Marquee Cinema at the Pinnacle in Bristol. I've had much better experiences there. It's unfortunate that I'm going to have to drive 30 mins to get to a quality movie theater but I'd rather do that than feel like...
