I’ve always loved shopping around this store and grabbing a bite to eat after at Norm’s News. Since I was little, I knew it as the “cowboy shop,” where I bought cowboy boots and toy pistols.
Today, I was disrespected and falsely accused of theft by an employee of this store. Me and my girlfriend were looking around. She had just gotten off a long flight and this was our first stop before heading home. As goofy as it sounds, I decided I needed to crack her back by lifting her up, so I looked around to make sure no one was watching. The employee then approached us and asked if we needed any help. My girlfriend said, “no, we’re ok. Thank you.” I also thanked the worker. But she didn’t respond and strutted away to gossip with another worker. I was taken aback with her impoliteness. My girlfriend understood what was going on before I did. The worker had assumed we were shoplifting and trying to avoid getting caught, which was far from the truth. We continued to have a look around. A minute later, the same lady sneaks up behind us without a word, circling like a hawk. Her coworker shows up too and asks a familiar question “do you need any help?” We felt swarmed. I was agitated. I then spoke up to the first lady who approached us: “do you want to check her bag to calm your suspicions? Because we didn’t steal anything.” She played dumb and made it seem like me bringing it up was an admission of guilt. She said I was acting strange. I told her that I thought the same — she was acting strange. My girlfriend doesn’t like confrontation and had walked away. I continued to defend myself. We went back and forth. I wouldn’t stand to be accused of this, especially when they were dead set on believing we’d attempted to steal even though they wouldn’t allow us to prove otherwise. They told us we could go. “We’ll check the cameras later!” is what they blurted. I’m glad they will because then they’ll know they were extremely presumptuous at the cost of my honest self’s dignity.
I wouldn’t be on here upset and writing a review if I had done anything wrong. She truly offended me and ruined my day. I’m sorry I didn’t...
Read moreHostesses do not know what know what they doing. Told us that it was going to be an hour wait for four people. I looked around and there was two booths and one table open and that was just in the front area. When asking the hostesses (there was now three of them) about the tables i got studders... Then i asked how many tables of four were waiting. There wasnt. Tables of twos and tables of six. I was getting angery at the response i got so said "Well you have a booth there a booth there those people are leaving from that booth and you have a table there." Then got a snotty response "ya you can go sit over there." Now I was a bartender at a 5 star resort and ive been in the service industry for more then half my life and that was just not how you treat people, especially when you at the front door. OTHER than that the food was amazing and the waitress made up for...
Read moreVery, very, very rude. If I could give no stars I would. I'm home visiting from Phoenix. My family and I have shopped at this store for years. Today we were in there at 5:50pm. They close at 6pm. The lady (a relative...maybe daughter of the owner) came up to us and asked if there was anything she could help us find "quickly". We said no and then she rudely said that they were closing and that we would need to leave. They closed the door behind us at 5:55pm. I was planning on spending some money in there but I will NEVER give them a cent...nor will my family and friends. I've never been treated so rudely...even in a large city like Phoenix. Kalispell is home and this kind of rudeness is just not ok. On the "Norm's News" side, they were so wonderful and kind. They could teach the Western Outdoors Store crew a few things...
