My customer recently purchased a computer from this location and had them do a 'data transfer' but they did an impressively unthourough job and lost almost all of my customer's documents except their downloads folder and a shortcut on the desktop. They only transferred some of her documents, without going the extra mile to export passwords files and other necessary steps to facilitate a transition from one computer to the next for any computer user, nor did they validate their transfer after finishing. They chose not to account for OneDrive storage, telling the customer it was 'her problem' to recover the documents from onedrive when they simply could have requested all files be downloaded to device before transfer. Needless to say she has lost almost every single document on her device as they had not taken the time and care to perform the work necessary on an individual case basis, instead relying on factory farm style 'one size fits all' service.
Upon attempting to retrieve the computer back from them to finish the job they started i had learned that they had recycled the machine in under a week's time, hard drive and all, and with the care they showed towards doing a complete job for my customer, i doubt they performed even a DoD before disposing of the device's hard drive. Actual professional businesses will retain recycled devices for a minimum of 30 days to prevent 'buyers remorse' in these exact situations.
Seriously. Don't let these jokers fool you into believing they can play IT. Do yourselves a favor and find a local computer repair shop to talk to. Literally any local shop will do a better job and if you take it to them first you'll probably save an hour of labor that your tech wont have to spend recombobulating...

I wanted to talk to my local store, he transfered me to another Peron in his call center-she started asking me the same questions, when I said the other guy had asked me the same questions SHE HUNG UP ON ME. Great customer service. In the past I have went in the store and asked about a product and employee said....we have a couple in the back that are not showing in inventory...I'll check. Since it is 78 miles to store I wanted to ask on the phone. My american dollars won't be funding best buy off shore workers...
Read moreI hate leaving negative reviews.. but after making an appointment, filling out paperwork, being assured multiple times that they can repair my phone and have it done in a few hours, and waiting for my entire lunch break and then some, they shrug and tell me they “can’t process it.” No explanation, nothing they can do to help, just told me to go somewhere else. I’m not sure why it took wasting over an hour of time I could’ve been working to figure that out, but I’m disappointed. (The place they suggested has very short business hours that I can’t get to with my schedule - the very reason I came to them in the first place). I don’t want to be a Karen, but.....
