We made reservations for 6:30 arrived on time and were told the wait would be 15 mins. Looked around and saw no less than 7 booths available. So, we asked if we could be seated in one of the open booths. They fussed around with the computer "looking" for a place to seat us and told us again we had to wait and that there was a large party already in that area. As we glanced over to where she pointed they were seated in two tables designated for just such groups. We also pointed out that there were already two separate guests seated at booths in the room. So the whole room was definitely not reserved. Finally the hostess went to talk to the manager. When they both came back to us the manager grabbed to menues charged past us without a word towards an open booth tossed the menues down on the table and said "there" spun around on his heels and charged off. Not what i would call welcoming by a long shot. The rest of the service was accomplished with minimal questions/discussion but not rudely as the manager demonstrated.
The food was as expected, flavors good, meats not as tender as I expected, but I loved the seasonings. Broccoli was perfect and the potato was good but slightly under cooked. All-in-all good but average.
Would I go there again? I wouldn't not go IF others in the group wanted to, but if it's up to my husband and I to choose ... nope, never again!
Too much money, too poor of service, and the food was good but only average, to be treated as a major inconvenience. Tri-cities has too many excellent restaurants to choose from to...
Read moreOverall nice atmosphere... It appears this restaurant has been updated or renovated... Doesnt have the old 90s australian outback theme. Blooming Onion was my go to of course. And it was as good as i remebered. However the steak meals were not as stellar as i remembered. Dont get me wrong its good but i ordered Rare as usual amd the steak came as ordered but the steak was mot a good grade. Went with bone in Ribeye since it is a signiture item. Meat jad a lot of gristle and fat and the meat was not easy to cit through. The biggest concern was the price... And i get inflation has happened but the price for this plate was way to high almost $40 bare minimun with no amazing side options is obscene. IMO the meat quality was that of choice selection... While it had marbeling the grisstle throught the cut tore me away from the expected tenderness i was hoping for. Now my partner had the 1/2 rack of ribs and that seemed a bit more in line with current pricing in this economy... But for a Steakhouse to fail in a steak and charge the prices they do... I am not sure a blooming Onion is going to bring...
Read moreWe went to Outback Steakhouse tonight, wanting a nice dinner. Overall, our experience was quite poor. The soup, salad wedge, and lobster were all good. That was about it. One steak ordered medium was good, another steak (same cut) ordered medium rare was dry and over cooked. Neither person that ordered Mac and cheese for a side was able to eat it - tasted like cheap Velveta with too much pepper. The mashed potatoes were poorly seasoned. The bloomin onion was over cooked. Lastly, my prime rib ordered medium rare was horrible. Much of it was so rare it was almost raw, and the pieces I tried to eat were so tough I couldn’t chew them. As we were getting ready to leave and my prime rib was barely eaten, I let the waitress know that it was very tough and pointed out that it was about raw. Instead if apologizing, she snapped at me and said, “you could have said something earlier.” I didn’t ask for a free meal, I was merely letting her know of the problem so that the kitchen could fix it for the next time. They did end up comping my meal. I do not mind paying $30+ dollars for a nice meal, but...
