Went to the JC Penney at Columbia Center in Kennewick, Washington and was sadly disappointed. I used to work at that store 10 years ago and over the years since it has been slowly deteriorating.
Had difficulty finding someone to help me in the women's dept. Finally someone came over but she was no help at all. Went to another department looking for an item and again had difficulty finding help.
Clothes are crammed together on the racks with NO separation by size so trying to find something is very difficult and then taking it off the rack other things are falling off. Clothes on end tables are thrown in piles, not folded or neatly stacked. No floor people around to help or answer questions. The day that I was there they were drying the dressing room carpets with fans and there were electrical cords stretched out to an outlet by the clothing racks. Luckily I was watching where I was going but seems like a real safety hazard.
I never did find everything that I was looking for so I took what I had found and searched for a cashier only to discover that there were only 2 cash registers, one on each end of the store.
Needless to say that I will not be shopping at this JC...
Read moreTammy from hand bags, I appreciate you and your kind efforts to make my mother feel welcomed. Most clerks/ cashiers see that my mother struggles with her English and avoid her if I’m not there to translate. I left my mother for a moment to be in the fitting rooms and as I rush out. I find out my mother is being helped by this lovely lady named Tammy. She works in the handbags section and even though it appeared she did NOT know Spanish, she did her absolute best to communicate KINDLY to my mother.
She has real customer service skills, any corporation would be fortunate enough to have her. This wasn’t the first time I’ve encountered her either, she has always been this way. We’re not even from this city, so it’s always a delight to see people who actually love their jobs and appreciate human decency.
May your managers recognize your ability, dedication, and enthusiasm that makes a memorable meaningful impact to this locations daily operation.

Read moreIn my top 5 favorite stores to buy from. However the covid restrictions make it very hard here. Parking is horrid, and the only entrances from the store are either in front or the mall entrance, which meant carrying things a long way. Also, no baskets were available so purchases all had to be carried. The check out areas were also closed, only 1 downstairs n 1 upstairs, and the 1 upstairs was also for returns so the line stretched for almost half the store. I was charged $17 for a shirt that had been on clearance for $1.99, but didn't have another hour to return n stand in line. And that wasn't the only pricing error they made. The gals were nice enough at the register, but still had to have a manager approve every markdown-which just made the sale take even longer...not sure if, in the end while taking all into consideration, that it was worth my time...
