I have always had good experiences with Fairfield Inn & Suites and Marriot, and that's why I booked here. However, my King suite had no furniture except the bed and an office chair for the slab that poses as a "desk" and doubles as the TV stand. There is a fridge, but where would I eat if I had leftovers or something to eat from the fridge? The only place to sit is at the desk next to my computer and inches in front of the TV or on the bed.
There was a big open space where there should be a chair, an ottoman, and a small table with a few more chairs. I don't reserve King suites because I need a bigger bed, it's because I want more furniture and not have to lay on the bed to watch tv. The room was newly remodeled but the fixtures, bathroom "desk", etc. were very cheap and not at all comfortable (neither was the bed).
There were NO plugins to charge my phone or run my CPAP machine on either side of the bed that were visibly accessible to the guest. I did find some hidden behind a false wall/headboard and an unlabeled trap door. The plugs were not directly behind the trap door but fortunately I carry a low profile extension cord with me and that barely fit. There were also no available plug ins near the desk for charging my computer or phone - I had to unplug the TV to plug my computer in. All of the other hotel brands are putting MORE convenient plugins, usb ports and such on larger desks. In lamps, dedicated charging and power strips built in to the desk, etc.
The staff was nice enough, but they said this is the new layout required from corporate. Well, if this is the new room layout, I'll definitely be finding another place to stay on business or personal travels. Upon checkout, I politely expressed my concerns and they offered nothing. Then I asked what the "Satisfaction guarantee" meant on the key card sleeve. They didn't know and had to call a manager to ask. I said I wasn't looking for a complete refund or anything, I mostly wanted to inform them that I was NOT satisfied at all, but needed to get going and didn't want to wait around to talk to the manager. I said they could just add extra points on my account or something and to follow up with me on email. I haven't received any communications...
Read moreHi,
I want to report an incident that happened on Wednesday 06/26/21 10pm with the receptionist male on duty. He gave me a wrong room to begin with. He came to my room later and asked me to change the room. I pointed that I have set my clothes & luggage out and if the room is the same I can be in same room. He left and came back a little while later and said “you have to move to new room” twice very rudely. As I was getting the keycard I said “it’s not right” on the way he talked, but before I could complete the statement he walked out on me. I changed the recipe room myself and went to down said him that he can’t walk out on a customer, he came close to me and said “you were not changing the room so I have to behave like that”, I said that’s false. I again said he can’t talk like that to customer being in this industry, he yelled saying “you don’t know how to talk”, I said “ I am not going to entertain this conversation tonight and deal with this separately as I am tired for 4 hours of travel and walked through front door to parking lot. He came close to me to parking lot and yelled “don’t you think may be I have been here for the past 10 hours”. I weaker to elevator and asked him can I talk to the Manager? He said he is only guy there. When I got into elevator, he jumped into the elevator with me, came till 2nd floor with me while talking rudely. He started yelling in the 2nd floor hallway that I who have the problem in talking. I was so upset and threatened with his aggressive behavior I couldn’t rest. I checked out that night to find another hotel. During checkout, he ordered, “ you don’t want to checkout, go back to your room”. This is the worst behavior that I have encountered in all my travel and I booked this hotel as it was Marriott. But Hiring this kind of person says a lot about this hotel. I will never step foot in this Fairfield brand and will recommend/escalate within my company to deal with this. I talked again to another receptionist named “Channing”, she said she will let the Manager call me, but I haven’t received any follow up from anyone yet. I am utterly disappointed with this experience. Please take strict action on that receptionist and teach him how to behave to a customer or even to...
Read moreAs I headed through the automatic sliding doors, I was immediately greeted with plastic sheeting wafting back and forth, distracting me from the formed line with one representative. It was over 90 degrees outside, so I reluctantly took a couple steps in, peering at what lies behind the opaque curtain. A breakfast area remodel, no doubt, later confirmed by the hotel rep. While my room wasn’t under construction, it seemed like everything else was. Plastic was hanging everywhere, and lots of things covered in dust. The temporary breakfast room was unappealing, had a dusty unfinished concrete floor, and not worth the visit. The indoor pool appeared nice, though roughly 1/3 smaller than I would expect. There is a hot tub. The fitness room is smaller than the guest rooms, with 3-4 machines wedged in there, no weights; it all appeared well-loved. The guest room with king bed was oddly appointed. Black or dark blue and gray carpet (what’s it hiding?) did not appear very old, and the bathroom tile is in decent shape, though I did have to exterminate a silver fish scurrying across the floor. I can’t recall the last time I had to kill a bug in my hotel room! Furniture in the room is sparse (desk with chair, 2 night stands) and there’s no theme, artwork, or concern to have anything match. The a/c is functional at keeping the room cool, but woke me up many times throughout the night. The free internet clocked in at 9.47 Mbps down and 9.61 up. $4.95 buys faster internet, apparently. This was a work trip that required only 1 night stay. I chose the hotel because of its location to my destination, the fact that it had a higher star quality rating than the neighboring hotels, and it’s Marriott. Overall, for a Marriott branded hotel, I was quite unimpressed and have no intention of returning. If a hotel is doing such an extensive remodel, close down for a bit and crank out the remodel, don’t make your...
