My husband booked manicures and pedicures for himself, me, and my mom. We had the WORST experience EVER. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I was so incredibly disappointed, and I feel completely ripped off. Here's why:
Customer service 101: just say hello. I mean... come ON. It costs you nothing and takes 2 seconds. My mom's technician never said hello to her, never made eye contact... it's just plain rude.
This tends to be a general "thing" at nail salons in the US (so this specific note doesn't contribute to the 0 rating rating I'd give them), but when the technicians speak together in a different language, it feels so uncomfortable. I know that they probably weren't talking about us, but man, it feels really alienating.
I got a basic manicure, which is ~$25. Do you know what I got? Literally an 6 minute rush-to-put-the-polish-on experience. It's supposed to include a basic hand massage, cuticle pushing/trimming, some filing, etc. She never once asked me if I wanted my nails trimmed or shaped (I did want this), and she didn't push back my cuticles. I also never got a hand massage. The color I picked didn't look at all similar once it went on my nails, and I mentioned this. I probably could have been a little more insistent, but you'd think if a customer says after one nail has been painted that they don't love the color, that they'd ask you if you'd like to switch it out for another one. Nada. I told my husband after my manicure to check which service they charged for, because I didn't want him paying for one of the higher-level manicures when I felt like I got the most basic once to ever exist. The lady who ran his card came over to me and asked me what my concern was, and I told her how I didn't get the cuticle trimming, hand massage, etc., and that I wanted to make sure my husband wasn't going to be charged for one of the premium manicures. She said that he was charged for their signature manicure. Not once did she say, "I'm so sorry, you should definitely have gotten a nail and cuticle trim", or anything like that.
My mom's technician left after he did her pedicure. She asked me if he was done, if he was coming back... she didn't have her shoes on, and she's never had a pedicure before. So I helped her put her flip flops on and we assumed he was done because it had been 15 minutes and he never came back. Bro didn't even say thank you or good bye.
I really try to be fair about places and give them the benefit of the doubt. But this place is seriously the worst. The best thing about it is that the decor looks nice, and the massage chairs are pretty good. That's it. The front reception and technicians that we had were the worst customer-facing people I've ever met, and they made what was supposed to be a fun, enjoyable afternoon into a stressful, sad, disappointing experience. I will NEVER go back to this place. Please save yourself some money and either do it yourself at home, or go to a spa where you'll pay about the same price and have people who are actually nice to you and...
Read moreI give it a 3 star because there are pros and cons. I booked mani-pedi but I just had about 1 hour available. At my arrival I asked the front desk and manager if two person could work on my services due my lack of time. She said no and I completely understand, but she went on and on and say not to rush the technician or else sheâll do a fast job. I said, no problem Iâll just do the manicure instead, I wanted to have a good relaxing experience.
Once with the technician, The experience was NOT relaxing to be completely honest. I felt rushed by Cloe. She was moving too quickly removing my cuticles that I felt the need to tell her not to rush, since we had time, because I cancelled the pedicure. She quickly responded âIâm not rushingâ The manicure itself was good. My color required an additional coat in a couple of nails because it wasnât looking even. I asked politely about it and she said âitâs a see thru color, I already put 4 coatsâ .She had put 3 (I was counting). I also say that it wasnât a see thru color since other nails had completely even color. She went on and applied the extra coat in a couple of fingers per hand. As she applied she said âthis is the 6th coatâ. Which was not true again, but showed me that she wasnât so happy doing it. Also commented about me with her coworker thinking I wouldnât understand, which was completely rude. After she was done painting the nails, she applied some sort of oil on my fingertips and I was expecting a massage, but I didnât received one. Zero massage. She just say âwash your handsâ I came back from washing my hands thinking I would get my hand massage or lotion or something, but no, she wasnât in her chair anymore, I had to ask another lady if I was done. Then Cloe came back and said youâre done. She didnât say thank you nor anything else. I completely understand her English is basic but she was rude. Never had that experience before in a nail salon. I had to ask for a baby sitter to go to the nails thinking to have a great experience and I didnât have one.
Never before I had a moody technician doing my nails, so it was not a spa experience for me. On the other hand, I saw a guy doing pedicure for some lady, he offered things to drink to her, he was very pleasant and looked he was doing his job happily. So that other lady had a great experience and hopefully wonderful nails too. Just it wasnât my experience.
Overall: Price point is good, customer service is bad or good, depending whoâs working on your nails and the manicure per se was good. Also the place is clean.
Conclusion: if I ever go back, Iâll ask to be seen by the guy Ken or Ben, not quite...
Read moreI used to rave about Anthony Vince to friends but had multiple people tell me of their horror stories. I had one bad experience previously so this was me giving them a second chance. After my experience today I also will not be returning. I havenât gotten my nails done in over a year and as a busy mom of two who just wanted to relax for her birthday Iâm so so disappointed and frustrated.
Pros: they give me a glass of wine during my appointment he let me read my book and wasnât weird about me being quiet of more reserved
Cons: (sorry but thereâs a lot and I would really want to be aware myself before going) he tried to convince me to do the more expensive pedicure even though I clearly stated which one I wanted. It set off my appointment on an uncomfortable, sour note he over cut the cuticle on my big toe which hurt and I bled for a long time I wanted to match my fingers (dip) and toes (gel) color and felt rushed in choosing. He kept trying to convince me to pick colors that had completely different undertones of red. Thankfully another lady intervened to help me pick out better matching colors my massage chair was broken (the back literally didnât massage at all which is why I wanted a pedicure in the first place) and when I brought it up he didnât try to fix the situation even though there were several other available chairs the pedicure I chose was supposed to come with a longer massage but that didnât happen. The only difference I got from the base manicure and the signature was a sugar scrub. my finger nails are not shaped well at all and you are charged $5 for them to be shaped⌠mine are literally crooked and super uneven in their length
I typically never complain or make a fuss about things but itâs frustrating that what should have been treating myself turned into such a negative experience. I will add, my total was outrageous and I was hoping they would offer a discount or something for the cut cuticle but that didnât happen. I even went back and asked for an itemized receipt because I was so shocked by how expensive it was. (They must have raised prices since I last went)
To give them some credit, I didnât go out of my way to make a big deal out of everything because I didnât want to to be difficult so maybe they would have made some things right⌠but I shouldnât have to complain about being cut, a broken massage chair, or a crappy shaping job in the first place. I want to give the benefit of the doubt, but sadly I just wonât...
