Planet Fitness — Attraction in Kissimmee

If this review were for the staff alone, it would be higher. The staff is great and very polite for the most part. However this facility is lacking a lot of the little things that make other PFs awesome.

There's absolutely no reason to purchase a black membership here, which I already had from another location. The only perk here is the cheap mall massage chair and tanning beds. Why are you tanning in Florida? They do not have the hydro beds or recliners which is the entire reason I purchased the black card elsewhere. It really makes a difference with your workout. Night and day.

The rest of my complaints are small but add up when you're already disappointed and can't opt out of the black card without paying a fee.

There's no water bottle water fountain. Only regular water fountains. Probably to encourage you to buy their bottled water. We need less plastic in the world. Especially being in a state nearly surrounded by the ocean.

Multiple machines have buttons that do not work. Mainly the cooldown feature. There's also a stair climber that has a broken vent that won't sit up.

Also, I've been to plenty of PFs and never ever seen the 'lunk alarm' used. I thought they were decoration. It's a judgment free zone right? One day I was here and this guy was struggling with one of the weights. He looked like he was about to die. He ended up dropping it the last few inches because his body gave out. He basically collapsed in the spot that he was standing. It made a loud clang and all of a sudden the alarm I thought was fake came to life and startled everyone. It sounded like storm sirens. Like seriously? Cmon guys. Don't be rude.

UPDATE: Again with the alarm for someone whose body literally gave out. I also forgot to mention that the staff will clean the machines while you're on them. This has happened multiple times. I've had to pour my drink out twice because of the dust going in it. Dusting around the top around the TVs and then wiping around my feet. It's very uncomfortable having a strange guy down around your feet while trying to work out. I've always thought the machines were cleaner than a lot of other PFs but this isn't how it should...

The old location was way better years ago. It has changed so much since. This new location was beautiful and upgraded at 1st, but it's not what it seems. Constant ceiling leaks, ac doesn't seem to work most times, no one cleans machines or dusts like they used to at the old building, women's bathroom is dirty with trash either full and overflowing or outside of garbage cans, sometimes I have to jump to a different bathroom after using it to get toilet paper. Front desk staff is NOT friendly or customer service oriented. Most times, they are either chatting with each other or on their phones. There's only 3 yes 3 workers that acknowledge my wife and I at all times whether we are leaving or just coming in. The atmosphere is horrible! People are always hogging the machines for what seems like hours. The same goes for the weights. People have 2 to 3 sets of dumbbells or are doing suppersets on machines, which is so inconvenient for the people waiting. A lot of times, I've had to wait 30+ mins for a smith machine or the leg press (the 2 most popular machines in the gym), and none of it is regulated. The same goes for rules at the gym. Bags and backpacks everywhere, gallons, slides, crocks, jeans, and sandals. This gym has become a circus. I used to enjoy coming to PF and have been a member for more than 10 years, but unfortunately, the way the gym is run now and the crowd makes it unbearable. People are constantly harrasing you to finish and use the machine you are using. Sanitizer and paper towels aren't always stocked, so it's a scavenger hunt to get some from the next station. The staff needs to walk around the gym more often and do rounds. I never even see the managers doing so like they used to in the old location. I'm the type of member that cleans up after myself and even picks up trash left behind on machines or floor near where I'm working out and it's not fair to members like me to deal with the things that go on at this PF. I have to say I have been to over 100 Planet Fitness clubs throughout America, because I travel a lot. I have never had an experience in any of those clubs quite as horrible as this one. I considered quitting my entire membership, but understood that this club is an outlier. Most are absolutely wonderful, can't say enough good things. So I have been in the Orlando area for the past couple of weeks on business and I have been using the Kissimmee Club. I have insomnia so I don't sleep a lot. So I have been in the club using the tables up front so I can use the internet. Mind you there is NO BLACK CLUB LOUNGE AREA AT THIS CLUB SO I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO BE RIGHT UP FRONT. I like to work out certain parts and then take a break. So I have been at the club quite a bit for the past couple of weeks, working out and using the internet. It's really helpful because I have insomnia and I am traveling. I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM IN ANY OTHER CLUB DOING THIS! A MEMBER OF THE STAFF SAID I WAS LOITERING AND KICKED MY OUT OF THE CLUB. I FELT LIKE A HOMELESS VAGRANT THAT WAS KICKED TO THE CURB. I AM NEITHER AND WAS VERY HURT AND OFFENDED. The owner needs to do a better job training the staff and reminding them that members make it possible for them to have a job in the first place. I SAY THIS AS A FORMER BUSINESS OWNER WITH OVER 20 OF MY OWN EMPLOYEES. I DON'T THINK I WILL EVER COME BACK TO THIS CLUB, ALSO HEARD ABOUT THE INCIDENT WITH Alessandra Santos (Club Member) Who was VERBALLLY ASSAULTED by another member. IMAGINE I GET KICKED OUT OF THE CLUB FOR USING THE INTERNET TOO MUCH, YET THE GUY WHO VERBALLY ASSAULTED Alessandra Santos (Club Member) IN THE CLUB GOT TO STAY BECAUSE "HE WAS A MEMBER" OWNER - DO A BETTER JOB TRAINING YOUR STAFF ON HOW TO BE SENSITIVE TO MEMBERS. Make Members feel appreciated and safe in your club!
