UBreakiFix presents itself as a reliable repair service, but my experience was far from satisfactory. Their insurance packages, including Asurion Home+ and cell phone insurance, are misleading and ultimately a waste of money. Opt for Appleās services if you have an iPhone to avoid disappointment.
Detailed Review:
I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with uBreakiFix, specifically the location in Carrollwood, Tampa. From the start, the service was subpar. They initially seem welcoming and eager to help, but this facade quickly falls apart. The primary goal appears to be pushing their insurance packages, such as Asurion Home+ or cell phone insurance, which I found to be entirely useless. These insurance plans promise coverage and peace of mind but deliver nothing but frustration.
Every time I brought my device in for a repair, there was always a new excuse or reason why my issue couldnāt be resolved under the insurance plan. It became clear that these plans are nothing more than a scam designed to drain more money from customers without providing any real benefits.
The service at the Carrollwood store was particularly atrocious. The staff, including the store manager named Jesus, were unhelpful and seemed more interested in upselling additional services than addressing my concerns. Despite multiple visits and phone calls, my problems were never adequately resolved. The manager, in particular, was utterly useless in answering questions or providing any meaningful assistance.
The level of customer service I encountered was shockingly poor. When I called to voice my concerns, the representative I spoke with was dismissive and defensive, showing no empathy or willingness to help. This lack of accountability and customer care is deeply disappointing.
Overall, my experience with uBreakiFix has been the worst Iāve had with any service provider. Their business practices feel predatory, and they seem more focused on extracting money from customers rather than providing quality service. I deeply regret not opting to have my iPhone repaired directly through Apple. The extra cost would have been worth avoiding the stress and disappointment caused by uBreakiFix.
Conclusion:
I strongly advise against using uBreakiFix for any device repairs, especially if you are considering their insurance plans. Save yourself the hassle and go directly to Apple or another reputable service provider. uBreakiFix is a company to avoid...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came to this location and had my front glass replaced by Samsung insurance (asurion), and the repair was fine, but the front camera was blurred out in which they needed to replace but didn't. I was told that they could order the camera and it should get there by Tuesday, it was Saturday when I did the repair. Tuesday came around, and no one called me. I called on Friday, and they stated my ticket was closed. No one ordered the camera, and no one called me back. On Friday they told me that they would order the camera and by Tuesday, again, it would be there. On Saturday they called me and told me the camera is in, and I can go in for the repair. I came to the store and was told that in 1 hour, my phone would be fixed. Came back an hour later, and my phone was repaired.
After my repair, about an hour later, my Sim stops working. I restarted my phone and did basic troubleshooting like erase all esim, my Sim is physical so it won't affect it. Reset the network setting, and still the phone stopped reading my Sim card. When I brought it back to the store, I was told that the repair is $100 because it's part of the charging port. I told them that this had never happened, not even after the first repair. They stated that the second repair was on top and they didn't touch the charging port. When I asked for a receipt for the camera repair, they said it doesn't exist. They did a repair without a case and now my phone is not working properly. The first repair was only a front glass, and they had on the receipt that the back glass was replaced to a burgundy when I still had my original back glass and it was not replaced. I'm not sure what kind of scam they are doing in this store, but this shouldn't happen to anyone. I missed a day of work to get this repaired, and I won't be able to come back until Wednesday, so I'm going to have 4 days of spotty service.
Update 02/10/25: You guys did a repair on my device without a case or claim so there's no warranty because it doesn't exist. I was also told because the second repair was on top and the problem is the bottom, it's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had an experience at "uBreakiFix - Phone and Computer Repair" located at 684 Centerview Blvd, Kissimmee, FL, that Iād like to share. My family and I initially visited because my mother's Samsung phone wouldn't charge. We contacted Samsung Care+, who scheduled an appointment at uBreakiFix, which is a 45-minute drive away.
Upon arrival, we noticed a line of customers, many experiencing similar issues with Samsung phones. One of the employees, an African man, made negative comments about Samsung phones, particularly the "Galaxy S25 Ultra," which almost made me regret my own phone purchase. However, since we had already paid for Samsung Care+, we figured we should keep it.
After my mother handed her phone to the employee, he took it to the back and cleaned the charging port, which was the issue. I then asked if he could look at my phone screen, which has a problem that resembles a crack but tends to disappear. He took my phone and guessed something must be on the screen, suggesting we file a claim under the manufacturer's warranty.
Days later, we filed the claim and set another appointment at the same store. Upon arrival, a Hispanic male employee informed us that they couldn't assist right away and asked us to return the next morning for a Samsung check-up. We agreed to come back at 10 AM.
However, this next visit proved to be frustrating. The store was busy, and when it was finally our turn, a chubby white employee inspected my phone and claimed he saw no issue. My mother, frustrated, explained our situation, mentioning our Samsung Care+ appointment. Instead of being helpful, the employee told her not to be loud or rude, which further annoyed her. I attempted to verify the crack on my screen but struggled in the low light. Ultimately, the employee rudely dismissed us, claiming he didnāt see our appointment or record on Samsung Care+ and told us to leave.
Overall, this experience was disappointing due to poor customer service and a lack of professionalism...
