The Spectrum store in North Croatan is my local store. I frequent this establishment often. The employees are nice & friendly, very knowledgeable about the services and products and are always ready to chat you up. My only complaint is that the store is under a new manager. It's literally a big burly guy in a dress, and while I understand we live in a different time where that is supposed to be acceptable. The new norm I guess. This guy. I mean they (using my pronouns, I know I got to be politically correct) came out of the back and was very rude, bulegerant to his employees, undressed one employee because the thermostat was changed, it was too cold in the store, and even though "they" were wearing a sweater in August, chastised the employee while she was in the middle of a transaction with me & told her she is not allowed to touch the thermostat under any conditions. I found the manager behavior to be rude, that conversation could have been held behind closed doors and not for public spectacle, then "they" attempted to take over my transaction and was giving me & another customer wrong information,we the employees stepped in to correct they're manager, they were dismissed with disdain and discuss. I felt 2nd hand embarrassed for all the employees that work at those store and I also felt awkward to have witnessed it. I think I will be taking my business to another location, because management is out of control at the OBX one. God bless those employees & if you think Im exaggerating. I was assured by the rep this would done. My wife witnessed the call. Then the 12/24 bill arrived charging us for the full cable/internet service! I placed my call 1/1/20 registering my concern only to be told by rep John & his female manager on duty @ 9 AM that my telephone interaction from 11/19 "did not exist in our system ". Then I was told nothing could be done about this, especially retroactively, and I was responsible for the full amount! My phone to them 11/19 took place. I have a witness! It is not my fault that the rep that day didn't do her job right. Spectrum should be held for THEIR mistake, not me. I not responsible for their lack of a recording. Besides, their telephone message states, "this conversation MAY be recorded" not "WILL" be recorded. Once again, their problem, not mine. Did they take responsibility for their error? NO! Was I made to feel irrelevant and a liar? ABSOLUTELY! As far as I am concerned this company provided me with the WORST service I have ever received. I feel ripped off and if there was some other cable alternative I would switch immediately! They should be ashamed of themselves but what can you expect from a company that has a monopoly on the Outer Banks, and who is just protecting their profit margin? Greed! THE CUSTOMER DEFINITELY DOES NOT COME FIRST WITH SPECTRUM! My advice? Record everything yourself or else you will run the risk of being ripped off...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreāāāāā Worst Customer Service Experience in 7 Years with Spectrum Iāve been a loyal Spectrum customer for over seven years, but my recent experience at this location was by far the worst. I came in to open a mobile phone line using my own device ā a simple process that somehow ended up taking two hours. The only employee there (a woman with long eyelashes, seated in the left corner) asked me to leave my phone so she could activate the eSIM. She finally finished right at store closing (6 PM). When I got home, I was shocked to find that she had reset my phone without my permission, wiping all of my data. I never authorized this, and unfortunately, I hadnāt backed up to iCloud ā so everything was lost. Now I understand why it took so long ā instead of activating the eSIM properly, she wiped my phone completely. When I returned today to ask what happened, she avoided me and had her manager speak with me instead. The manager simply said there was nothing they could do, offered no apology, and made no effort to take responsibility or make it right. I expected much better from Spectrum.
