Wonderful place to visit for those who love Women’s Basketball! During my teenage years I had season tickets to the Seattle Storm (WNBA), so I was excited to check this place out!
Admission is $7.95 with a $2 discount for Triple A members. The tour stars with a 25 minute film and a short guided tour of the statue in the lobby and two significant photographs. Typically I’m not a fan of guided tours and was worried how long this portion would be, but it was quick and real informative.
For me that was where most of the history came from. The museum is filled mostly with memorabilia, which was great for a blast from the past! Many of the Storm items on display were things I received over the years at games. It was also cool to see memorabilia from other teams.
They do have a small collection of rare gems. Such as the letter sent to Pat Summit offering her the head coach position with the Lady Vols, a pair of game worn Lisa Leslie shoes, and the car the Red Heads traveled in from game to game (professional team formed in 1936).
The best part of the museum for me was the amazing woman working that day. Because I grew up in Seattle and had never been to Tennessee until a few years ago, I knew next to nothing about the Lady Vols, other than names. I came thirsty for knowledge and this lady delivered! She knew Pat personally and shared story after story about her dear friend. I came away from the conversation wishing I would’ve had the honor of meeting Pat, or saw her in action on the court.
After my visit here I went to see Pat’s statue on the University campus. I immersed myself into every YouTube video on Pat. A few days later I was in Clarksville. I visited her statue there. For me that was the biggest takeaway from this museum. Learning about the incredible Pat...

Read moreI took my daughters who love women's basketball. We drove 90 minutes and had to really use the bathroom. As we passed the ticket window to run to the bathrooms just ahead, we were rudely yelled at and scolded. There was no one there and only exit was the same door..were we really trying to cheat the admission? The woman, evidently, the boss, was coarse and cold during our entry purchase . They have several video exhibits that were evidently down due to the storm the night before. Would've been nice to be told that before collecting our money especially since one of them was a 25 min main video introduction. After touring n shooting, we had a great time and luckily that lady was gone and R. Lee saved the day. He was so generous and friendly and made us feel welcomed and even knew how to bypass the tech and let us watch a really good 25 min video....
