I would like to start by saying we were originally customers of Lee Michael’s for some time. My wife’s engagement ring even came from here.
That said, I decided that I wanted to purchase a Rolex. Lee Michael’s had been my number one choice for my wife’s jewelry, so naturally they were my number one choice for a Rolex purchase. Unfortunately our salesperson was no longer at the business. Instead of the service I had come to expect from Lee Michael’s, I was thrown a curveball and was treated as if I could not afford the time piece I was after by the new salesperson and manager on staff. I was given a lecture about the value of Rolex and was not allowed to handle anything. My guess is because I was in work attire and not dressed up to their standards. This was absolutely insulting and prejudice. I immediately left the store and drove across town to their competitor, who gave me an awesome experience and treated me as one of their own. I will not be back to Lee Michael’s.
Edit: This review was from a couple of years ago. For some reason it updated and cued Lee Michael’s response to me. I am currently in the market for a very specific piece and am on waiting list at a few different AD. With that said, I decided to email Chad due to what seemed like a genuine response to my review. Unfortunately it seems his response is nothing more than a public attempt at saving face. I gave the company the benefit of the doubt and tried giving a second chance. In so many words, Chad told me that the time piece I am currently interested in is too in demand for me to be placed on a waiting list or take a deposit. While I’m aware the piece is in demand, I am also aware that every other AD within traveling distance is more than okay with putting my name on a list with or without deposit. There is no downside for the AD as this usually guarantees an instant sale when the piece arrives. (In order of the list, of course. And I am fine with waiting. I was not trying to be placed in front of any current waiters.) Chad was unwilling to help me get into the watch I inquired on and instead tried to push me into going to a store for a watch I don’t want. This is the exact opposite I expect out of an AD. This is a jewelry sale, not a vehicle sale. I do not have to have this. This felt like a car salesman type of move - trying to make a sale right now instead of listening to the customers wants, helping them into what they want, and building a long lasting relationship with them. This just does not make sense to me in a jewelers atmosphere. I am a fair guy and I was really hoping that Chad reaching out to me would have restored my faith in Lee Michael’s and worked out for the both of us but that was not the case. I firmly believe that you will get a better experience elsewhere. I was treated with much more respect at the opposing AD in the direct area (and also with the numerous non-Rolex dealers where I purchase Omega, seiko, etc). The competition wants to get me into the pieces I want, not push me towards pieces I do not want. This means the world to a collector who wants a straight up and direct AD, and so much more to someone walking in for the first time trying to buy that...
Read moreBrought my wife's custom engagement ring and wedding band in to have them combined into a single piece (they weren't designed to go together) and recoated. After a month long wait, the ring arrived at the store with only one of the three rings coated properly and the stone at the center of the engagement ring missing a large chip. No one saw it until my wife put the ring on.
Had to wait another month for a replacement stone to arrive, for it to be seated, and sent off again. Wife picked the ring up today, finally completed and intact. She had to deal with yet another salesperson, as the previous ones and manager were actively avoiding us. Their appraisal of the completed ring was 1/3 of the total original purchase prices and the recent custom work.
TLDR: dont let them work on anything you didn't buy there. They don't care.
2/1/20 update So my wife and I were contacted by the vice president of Lee Michaels within 2 hours of the original review. Very impressive detective work I must say. He proceeded to throw himself on his sword for what happened with the store. Very apologetic and very determined to correct the mistakes that were made.
After emotions cooled off, we agreed on full refund for the custom work. While my wife and I were upset and disappointed by the original process, the VPs personal actions did alot to rectify the situation, and I am very thankful and appreciative of his efforts. Again, thank you for the hard work...
Read moreI started my relationship with Lee Michaels over a decade ago. I own multiple businesses and understand the value of customer service and doing right by your customers. Lee Michaels is the most impressive, passionate and empathetic company experience i have ever had the pleasure of encountering. Every employee and representative embodies a level of customer service that is unmatched inside or outside their industry. Becky, Mark and Johnny have consistently and routinely gone above and beyond what my already high expectations are. If you are considering purchasing fine jewelry or luxury watches, and want to actually develop a relationship throughout your buying process that is more attuned to being a part of a family (which is exactly what i want in all of my business relationships), there is no other company that will consistently execute those values than Lee Michaels. I’m proud to be a part of their family and never regret spending my hard earned money on their experiences. Just walk into one of their stores (especially the Lafayette location off Ambassador) and you’ll immediately know what I’m talking about and determine that you are home. I definitely am not a paid spokesperson. Lol. Just passionate about how much they have done for me. Try them once and you’ll never go...
