We have done 275 escape rooms during covid, nationwide, as a two person team and have the experience and ability to judge difficulty, appearance, puzzles, attention to detail, and overall quality of escape rooms. (Frankly, during that time, dates were a lot more fun and than dinner and a movie.) As huge science/math geeks, we kept track on an excel spreadsheet and have a 95%. š completion rate. That being said, of all of the rooms we have done, this place surprised us as one of the top five of 275+ worst. It was highly rated, but the layout, scenario, logic, and puzzles were so nonsensical and dusjointed that you could not complete the room without asking for a help and hints on a regular basis. We finally sat down and decided it was so ridiculous that we'd rather leave and eat the cost. While leaving we voiced our disappointment and that we had the experience of escape rooms to know better, and the girl working merely blurted out, "yeah, well I've done about that many too!" Rude, unprofessional, dismissive; and we didnāt believe her for a second. We just left. Save your money here. Go to Fishers near indianapolis; they are in our top ten. No idea how these guys got it so wrong.
As for the response below, it is apparent that there is no opportunity for constructive criticism or improvement here, even after giving this place a second chance. Save your $$; you can build a better escape room with a Ouija board, some clothes pins, Vaseline , chewing gum (chewed), a Cheeto, a color by number booklet (age 5+), and the MacGyver stunt double in your basement. We liked the price ($25-$28 per) and understand why, now. To be real, even now due to having given a negative review, and paying for that experience, the discontent was the only contact of any kind we received - just sharp aggravated discord rather than any sort of apology, tefund, phone call, potential learning experience, interest in feedback, or assurance that the games weren't designed by the family dog. Sorry guys, to each their own; and we hope you all have a better experience for Rugged...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst escape room Iāve ever done was here, and I went again the very next weekend! Rooms Iāve done are doomsday and the morgue. Price range is great considering how much fun you have and effort/thought theyāve put into the room designs and back stories. At night parking is free and right in front of the entryway, free garage one block away on nights and weekends also. Street parking during the day. Directly across from the spinning axe. You do book online, and if youāre group has 5+ people you each get 3$ off your ticket! The 2 people working here when Iāve visited are seriously cool people! Iāve beaten one of the two rooms Iāve done and after you beat a room you get to write your name or whatever on the walls and they do take a picture of your group for you too! Both times Iāve booked Iāve been able to get a room same day or two days before, but I recommend booking it ahead of time so you can make sure you get the room and time slot you want! (I wasnāt too picky) the rooms are different levels of difficulties and somehow I ended up doing the level 3 first, then the level two and It didnāt make a difference, so no need to go in order. If this is something you havenāt done, or you do escape rooms and you havenāt gone here, Book it ASAP! Lol RUGGED XSCAPE SERIOUSLY...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat a great family activity over Christmas break! We choose the Boiler Room for our family of 6 and this was quite a challenge! The owners are amazing and engage with you upon entrance and continue to check in with you as the they watch you āstruggleā to find the clues and complete puzzles! Very helpful when asking for clues and even followed up to ensure we were on the right track! This was my 2nd experience with Rugged as I took my Manager here for our Christmas party ( 15 of us) - great team building experience! Each a very unique experience! 60 minutes never goes by so fast! Have done both the Terrorist Warning and Boiler Room, both were very challenging! Terrorist Warning got out with 4 mins to spare and Boiler Room we were only 1 little # in our code needed to get out at the buzzer, missed this one!!! I highly recommend #Rugged Xscape for a...
