This place is a blessing ! I have been coming here for 3 months now and everytime i come the prices are getting higher and higher . But heres the real deal , all as the human race all have issues in our lifetime that we have to deal with. I have my own issues and my issues are people following me around and trying to make my life miserable as can be. Last monday i show up for the 4:00 food distribution. It was my first time so i didnt know how it worked. They directed me to a large tent in the donation area. Even though i found it i was still clueless on what to do. I didn't know if you had to pay cuz it looked like they were serving lunch and there was a speaker . As far as i knew i was there to hopefully get some groceries. So i ask a guy that looked like he worked here what is the procedure on getting food from the food bank ? He told me that someone will be by passing out tickets shortly. I also asked about the lunch being served and does it cost money ? He told me no it's free. They were serving pizza and a salad. So i head over to what i assumed was the beginning of the line and ask the rather RUDE lady if this is the beginning of the line? She looked me up and down then looked at my service dog and mumbled something like ya what do you want ? I said can i get a piece of the pepperoni pizza ? She looked as if i just offended her ! She grabs the smallest coldest piece of pizza that there was and hastily puts it on a paper plate and rudely hands it back to me. I asked her straight up "are you mad at me, did i say something wrong ? She again mumbled something and basically sent me on my merry way. I got that attitude from just about everyone that afternoon. Here's the kicker i sat down pretty much away from everyone as not to disturb them with my service dog . My service dog is well mannered and a social butterfly so to speak. She sits out of peoples way at my feet and takes a nap she is working. There was one lady who sat at the end of the table in the next row up from me. She looked as though i was going unleash my ferocious, viscious service dog on her and my dog was going to eat her for lunch, totally over exadurating the situation. It was almost comical. As a matter of fact it was downright hilarious, her theatrics were so fake that she could've won an Oscar for the best worst actress award. So i sat there enjoyed my sliver of cold pizza and soggy salad wondering where that guy is passing out tickets for the food bank ?? So i headed in that direction only to find out that for some reason they don't have anymore tickets left. So i said what do you mean ? What does that mean ? He said iteans that we don't have anymore tickets to pass out. So I said you told me that you would give me a ticket that I should go have lunch and have a seat. And now you're telling me that you don't have any more tickets. What does that mean? In my own words it means that you're SOL. It means I get the kids meal not the whole turkey. And all this time you people are all being pretty weird and rude. If this is supposed to be the house of God I could say one thing for a fact that package is that Satan is hard at work in that house of God there was no love , simply put it was downright HATRED. Same thing when i go shop in the warehouse. They have "loss prevention" people that their job is to target a person who they think is going to steal from the place. You ever feel like your being watched at all times ?;well thats the kind of attention that i was getting they were so obvious that i was tempted to tell them what A horrible job they were doing So thats the reason...
Read moreNEW REVIEW 2024: Still very organized, but the quality of clothing has become run-of-the-mill, not many nice items; maybe someone working there knows someone with a used clothing boutique and that’s where all the pretty clothing is going? Prices have gone higher too - I guess everything has gone up. But thrift stores should be about moving items back into the community to help people who can’t afford much, not higher prices that “bring in more money.” I realize that the money goes to charity and to their public mission, but I feel like the balance is off by several dollars per item😳.
NEW REVIEW AS OF 2019: They seem to be under new management. The place has been insanely organized! Employee in donation area everytime I’ve gone now. Easy to find everything, and the manager is cheerful, accomodating and reminds me of Bill Murray😂 I’m raising the stars from 2 to 5!
OLD 2⭐️REVIEW FROM 2017: Good amount of furniture, a few racks of clothing but they excel in knick knacks and household items. Plenty of electronics and sporting goods too. The people in the store are generally helpful and courteous. I only give 2 stars because we went to the back to donate here for the first time, and we walked around trying to find someone, asking people we saw, and there was no one in charge to be found.
Since we saw labeled boxes in an area marked « Donations », we decided to just try to separate our donations into the labeled boxes - they need a “Miscellaneous” box. There were also people there, I assume, getting free food donations? The donation drop-off and pickup area for needy people to enter are in the same spot. Some people saw us and came over, they started going through the boxes and taking the things out that we had put in while asking, « Can I take this? ». I had no idea if they were allowed to go through the donations, so I replied « I don’t know ». As I said, I had found no one in charge. Then a guy came out and started yelling at us saying we couldn’t give things away to people, 2. that area was only for dropping off donations and if I wanted to give people things I had to do it « somewhere else ».
I was surprised at his quite rude behavior, since we were simply dropping things off and had no control over others except to advise they try to find someone to verify if they could take what they wanted.
They must have a big problem with this; they either need to have someone available, or a sign saying where to find someone.
Instead, it’s giant labeled boxes sitting in the parking lot and it looks like people use it as a free-for-all.
I hope someone reads this and takes care of the problem. I know I will find somewhere else to bring my donations for now. I don’t need to have people yelling at me when I go out of my way to give back to...
