Spoiler Alert not worth your money. Too many small things bring the rating down quickly.
Check in was terrible, they seem to over look add on packages and the crowded and long lines where stress inducing. They made us wait for a room despite paying extra for early check in and made it seem as if we it was a inconvenience for them to have to make things right. Package add ons and extras not worth the âhassleâ as the the desk staff make things not worth it. Food in the resort is over priced slow service and food thatâs just not good. We ate at the brew pub and food was not worth it. Best bet go off site to anywhere else. let talk coffee, same thing with the coffee cafe long lines during peak morning hours with 1 employee making coffee drinks and food. best bet go offsite to DD down the street. letâs talk the elephant in the room⌠the indoor water park. Looks like an amazing place on paper and in pictures yet you pay an arm and a legâŚ. Meanwhile Half the pools where NEVER open, half the rides are on schedules. Those schedules are not posted online or in the front of the water park entrance or anywhere other than after you pay, and get into the park and go by that ride and finally see on a small chalk board sign by that ride that it will only be open for less than 2 hrs a day.The long lines for sliders and the Lazy River not open and not being able to see when the best slides where open ahead of time really lead to wasting time waiting for slides to open and not being able to do everything bc of this over sight by the owners . Not worth the money⌠this place had potential, but lack luster staff and water park being closed with no answer why or when it would open just wasnât worth the massive expense of money spent for a party of 5.
Tom fooleryâs overpriced wrist bands and and confusing system where you donât get to do as much as you are lead on to believe when you check in or make reservations. Yes they have so many things on site to do. Problems is that staff and quality of those attractions isnât good. Over worked and underpaid staff seems likely to blame paired with typical high priced low reward arcade games and they are making a ton of money off us. Just not worth the price. Spring break 2022 3 teens and 2 adults. But hey whatâs a couple thousand dollars for a 3 night stay at a resort where half the attractions are closed or over hyped online and in pictures⌠and food service is terrible in the restaurants ?. itâs your money⌠we wonât be returning not worth the cost headaches or troubles.Look else where as they are perfectly fine taking your money and just cramming as many people thru here as possible meanwhile giving the people as little as possible. 3 stars deduction for valve, honesty, service...
Read moreIâd like to give the resort zero stars but canât. Iâve never been so frustrated with a vacation experience. My kids love the water park, so we try to come 2-3 times a year. The past three visits have had room issues.
The first trip with issues was comical. First the clocks didnât work because they had timed out. Maintenance came and fixed them. And then fixed them again. Then we didnât have hot water in either shower. Two maintenance workers and an engineer tried to fix it before telling us it was a âsafety featureâ to shower in tepid water. On that visit, an upgrade was available so I was able to pay to move to a different suite. Everyone was friendly and the kids loved the splurge on the larger suite, and it was in the main building. No problem. I didnât even mind when I got 10+ notifications of attempted charges on my credit card at the pool bar while we were eating Culverâs in our room- they were all declined so no harm was done.
Last time we came, I donât know what happened to the room we booked, but when it wasnât available we were moved to a larger suite in the same building.
Tonight we pre-registered in the afternoon before checking in, only to arrive to no booked room. âMaintenance issuesâ again. Instead of getting the room with a living area in the main building that I paid for, weâre in a smaller room down the road nowhere near the water park or arcade. When checking in, the attendant said the âgood newsâ was he was âgiving meâ Tom Foolery passes. But, spoiler alert: Iâd already paid for them when I booked the Tom Foolery package. Nice con heâs running. The manager then refused to even entertain the idea that I should- at the very least- not pay my booked rate for an inferior experience. She then said we could âscheduleâ moving to our booked room tomorrow but couldnât say when- maybe some time after noon- and she couldnât actually pre-arrange it (so, not actually on a schedule and will interrupt our plans for the day). Another man at the front desk said Iâd have to call the reservation line âbecause I booked onlineâ. Ok, I call the number and they put me on hold for 5 minutes before hanging up. Finally, I tried to buy dinner at the pool with a room charge and apparently none of our bands were properly set for charging privileges. Now my husband with mobility issues from a back injury is trekking to/from a room down the road from the actual resort rather than simply taking the elevator up to the centrally located room I booked.
I will no longer recommend Kalahari to anyone. A simple apology would have been sufficient to avoid this change...
Read moreSpent $1000 for 9 of us to go. The only good thing about this place was the lazy river and the swim up bar. 5 of the 9 people couldn't even go on the slides bc they have an unrealistic weight limit. They weigh every single person before they can go on any of the slides. No where on the website, at the ticket desk, front desk of the hotel, signs inside the pool area does it say anything about max weight. Instead the signs are at the top of 4 or 5 story stairs (that are super dangerous). What is the weight limit you may ask...250lbs. After hearing this from one of the 9 people that was in my group we asked a manager and he confirmed. After hearing this I started counting how many teens and adults would not be able to go on any of the slides and the number was well over 100 people. It would have been more if I had continued to count. This place is a joke! We would not have spent that kind of money if we had known. I'm trying to figure out how they can get away with this type of discrimination!
Update: Response from Kalahari... Sara, we apologize that this is the experience that you had in our waterpark, and we appreciate you reaching out with your feedback. Safety is always our number one priority, and all of our attractions have height, weight, and operational limits that are in accordance with state law and the manufacturer's recommendations. All of our safety information and ride polices can be found on our website under the "Parks & Passes" tab. For the convenience of our guests, we have also posted signage before you enter the stairways to all of our attractions, noting the requirements, prior to waiting in line. If you would like, I would be more than happy to connect you with our waterpark leadership team to discuss the safety policies on our attractions. If so, kindly send us a PM with a good contact phone number and email. Thank you again for providing your feedback, and please let us know if you have any additional questions.
My repsonse: I left a review and I am informing you that your website for Wisconsin dells specific website does not have weight requirements. No I do not want to speak with the management team unless it's going to be for them to provide a full refund bc my group of 9 were not able to enjoy any of the attractions except for 2 of them. Attached is the video evidence of the website not offering the weight requirement.
The website does not in fact offer a weight...
