2024 Update: It is incredibly disappointing how much MQ has been getting stripped down at this location (one of the few Legacy MQ locations left). Many chests are either gone or replaced with less interactive alternatives. The Chaos Chest is gone (although I'm told it's only out for 2 weeks and will be replaced- I'm not sure I believe that), which means you can no longer use the Unicorn topper's powers (which was a purchasable extension for your wand years ago). The two quests that were located on the hotel side have been eliminated. (Where is the black hole and the fairy? So sad.) Much of the climbing equipment is again broken (and I see the same hole in the net from 2022 has yet to be repaired). The new wands are much lower quality, so I'm glad we have our old ones. I'm not sure we will bother with MQ on our next visit to the Dells (we've been regulars for years). It's a shame that GWL bought the MQ company for inclusion in their waterpark properties only to let them go into disrepair, as well as upgraded many of the attractions to less interactive experiences. We will have to save our magic making for the only legacy location left, in Pigeon Forge, which is thankfully, separate from GWL and their disappointing handling of the brand. --------- 2019: MagiQuest is one of the most wholesome, active, and entertaining attractions we have done with our children in a long time. We went with 7 and 3 year old girls. Both loved the experience, and dare I say, we as adults also had a lot of fun. Imagine playing make-believe with your child with the added bonus of realistic setting, interactive characters, and physical movement through climbing features, stairs, slides, and multiple stories. Our children spent hours here on multiple days throughout the trip. The puzzles and riddles felt challenging enough for young and old alike. The gift store had numerous fun accessories, such as capes, wand belts, and more. The resort itself also incorporated elements of the experience throughout, as if MagiQuest could not be fully contained only in its designated section of the lodge. PROS -A popular attraction for a variety of people, young or old, but children between about 3 to 14 will probably be the best audience. -The attraction takes time to complete. Your money will provide 3 to 6 hours of entertainment minimum, but most likely much, much more. -You get to keep the variety of materials you receive at the start (wands and guide book). -MQ will challenge your children physically as they climb play structures and get from treasure to treasure and floor to floor. -MQ will challenge them mentally and socially as they figure out riddles, listen to hints, and inevitably end up working with other children around them to solve more difficult puzzles. -You can redo any quests or challenges you like after you've completed them. -Subtitles are available for the deaf or hard of hearing. -If you complete MQ, or simply want a different and harder challenge, they offer another experience you can do called ShadowQuest. CONS -As an adult, you may find the attraction physically demanding if you are chasing little ones for hours on end, or end up climbing nets and structures with the youngest in your group. Either way, be prepared for multiple flights of stairs. Thankfully, there is an elevator available for those who may not be able to take the multiple flights or who use mobility devices. -The wands and IR sensors can be a bit touchy at times. Sometimes you trigger something accidentally, or sometimes you have trouble triggering what you need. -Some areas were in need of repair (broken net that was cordoned off, some chests not working properly, some drinking fountains broken). -Pricing and gift shop items may seem a bit pricey for some families, although we felt the length it takes to complete the attraction (multiple days for us) ended up being worth it. -Some of the encounter attractions had long waits (most notably, Charlock, the red dragon duel)

We're (3) thirty-something adults that took (2) 16-yr old girls to MagicQuest where we probably spent 2.5 hours completing the Shadow Quest and had a great time! $20 per (take-home) wand plus roughly $15 each for the girl's "quest" seemed a bit much before we started, but we definitely got our money's worth considering we only had to pay for the two wands and two quests, not an entrance fee for each individual. $70 for 5 people having 2+ hours of fun in the Dells isn't a bad price! Racing each other to finish first added a fun edge to a game that might not have been as exciting had we simply been cooperating. Had the weather been bad the next day, we might have returned with our pre-purchased wands and completed one of the other quests for just the cost of the quest, but the weather was ok and we were able to hit the water parks, but we will definitely consider returning to MagicQuest next time we're in the Dells! There were kids off all ages playing. It's basically a scavenger hunt laid out over 4 floors (lots of steps to climb up and down!). There are stairs, slides, and cargo nets to get you from one level to another. The wands are used to activate and "find" items on your scavenger hunt, which must be found in a particular order.

My fiancé and I came here from MN for the first time after checking out from our overnight stay at Great Wolf Lodge during the first weekend of this new year (1/4-1/5) and we had a blast! If you were staying at the GWL unless you get the Paw Pass or whatever other pass they offer that bundles MagiQuest, it'll be a little pricy depending on the wand and whatever topper you get along with the games, but all in all worth it for many hours of fun. Being that we're both huge fans of anything fantasy and anthropomorphic, she really enjoyed the characters like the fairies while I enjoyed the many anthropomorphized creatures like the evil wolves and stuff. Best of all, these wands can be reused over and over again at any Great Wolf Lodge or only remaining standalone location in the US in Pigeon Forge, TN, and you'll only have to worry about paying for the games since you'll have everything you needed from the time prior.

miserable experience at the Wisconsin Magic Quest. . 2 adults over 40, no kids... so its not like we arent well versed in figuring stuff out. We saw other people with printed booklets. We asked for a printed book and was told they dont have printed books only phone guides. The employee did not explain things clearly. he did not tell us that the map on page 2 would be most beneficial. If nothing else they should have printed maps OR a printed on to take a photo of to refer back to while in the website reading clues. We completed 3 quests and left frustrated. Had we had a printed book of quests or a printed map of whats on each level that would have been much better... and an employee that took the time to fully explain how it works. He was aware we had never been prior. it has a lot of potential but lacks in many areas. I think the lodge customers had printed books. So we felt ripped off and like we were less than lodge customers. like it really wasnt meant for us to be there, only lodge customers. From what Ive read on Reddit etc this location is the worst. might give it a try elsewhere. cant...
