The room was nice, the staff was descent. The cleaning team is great here. Hotel is always clean. Check in is terrible and they seem to not have enough folks or a good system in place. Check in will take an hour, regardless of if you do at counter or do it yourself kiosk. Billing is really my biggest issue. We stayed 3 nights and our total was $2253.9, that said we were charged for $2753.9 exactly $500 more. Our credit card hasn't been refunded and we have called and left two voice messages of which none were returned. The restaurants are also way over priced and food is edible but nothing special. With so many options right at your doorstep really no reason to eat here except for convenience. Our last night we wanted something good to eat so we went to their steakhouse the double cut. It was a severe disappointment. The only thing that was on par with a top notch steak house was their pricing. The wait staff knew very little and certainly didn't compare to what the service at a high end steak house. The steaks were all over cooked, again not happy when paying $70+ per steak. Everything was ala carte again this is fine, but this isn't a truely high end steak house. Just a steak place with steaks on par with what you will get at an outback steakhouse. All in all we could have gone just about anywhere in the USA for what we paid for 3 nights of Kalahari. Definitely not worth the money!! Especially since I paid an additional $500 and can't...
Read moreOnly giving this place a 1 star due to the lifeguards. Witnessed 2 diff lifeguards watch teenagers spraying adults sitting at lounge chairs and not saying anything to the kids, one of the times being myself right after I sat down with my child and our food we got from the food stand. Food wrecked. I was abt to go teach those kids some manners but they quickly disappeared. Another instance was a lady holding her baby. Sickening. Yet they'll blow their whistles if a kid goes down the slide wrong. Seen them watch kids chuck the basketballs up waterslides as kids were coming down. One hitting a kid in the face and they didnt say anything to them. On the slides: lifeguards one day on the let my son (who is exactly 48 inches) go on the slides, next day diff lifeguard they would not. Make up your minds on the rules and have ALL your lifeguards abide by them. Lastly it wouldn't kill you guys to put in the conveyor belts for the big 4 person tubes, you have them inside you can do...
Read moreI would strongly suggest not booking online, but calling ahead to see if any field trips are scheduled during your stay. It can make a big difference if you expect to use the lazy river as and actual lazy river or if you have smaller kids that won't be able to compete for space with middle school kids that don't follow any rules.
Other than that. This is a really great vacation location. Great balance with both the water activities and...
