I spend thousands and thousands of dollars at this particular store, but after what just happened to me I will never shop there again. Couple weeks ago, I bought myself 5 new rods and 3 reels, the total came out to be just under $850. One of the freshwater rods tip broke off, so I took it in seeking help. I'm unfamiliar with their warranty policy, but to be honest I didn't really care because I know they can just help me repair the tip. I go to this store, I tell the guy in the fishing section what's going on, and he told me to hang on for a second he'll be right back. Soon this so called "General Manager" an older guy with glasses walks up to me and just grabs this rod out of my hand and says this is stolen property, if I wanted it back I'm gonna have to call the police... I was shocked! I was extremely upset at the time, and also extremely embarrassed. No one has EVER accused me of stealing, nor have I ever stolen anything! So I did call the police, but dispatch said it was going to take a couple hours for an officer to come by. It took me a bit to cool off, I didn't cause a scene or anything but I was enraged inside. When I cooled down a bit, I went up to the guy in the fishing department and showed him my receipt. He did show me that this rod wasn't listed on there, but I most definitely did NOT steal that rod. The only conclusion him and I could come up with is that when I made the bulk purchase, the cashier girl didn't ring this particular rod up! Both the funny and saddest part about all this was that this rod was the cheapest item out of everything I did purchased! So now at least we know what probably happened, but does a store manager have the power to just grab a customer's item and withhold such item? I don't think so! If this "General Manager" had talked to me respectfully, I would've given this rod back to them or paid for the full amount. As a GM, you can't act like a tyrant! Any who, this is my rant, I'm not shopping at...
Read moreI visited the lake forest location to return a armors wrench that I purchase a couple of weeks prior from the same location with the receipt. The wrench was brand new in the original box unopened and I had the original receipt so I wasn’t sure why the cashier asked me for my drivers license to do a simple return. I didn’t have my wallet with me so the cashier by the name Benjamin told me that he wasn’t going to do the return for me. Luckily I keep a picture of my I.D on my cell phone that I was able to pull up and show him. He then pulls out a form that he starts filling out including my full name, my address, and my license #. So I ask him what was the purpose of him taking down all my personal information down for a simple return? I asked him isn’t that kinda unconstitutional? And he replied “ yes, but we are in California man, everything here is unconstitutional” so I told him that I don’t think agree with that one bit at all, just because some things are unconstitutional it doesn’t mean turners should follow and infringe on people’s rights. So I asked him why turners out off all people do that especially when it wasn’t a gun or anything in that nature? Benjamin then tells me “it’s a way that they can track the people that come in and out of gun stores” those are his exact words!! I kept my cool the whole time as he finished filling out all my information. I could tell that the cashier Benjamin was getting mad at me for asking him legit questions about my information being taken. When he was all done I thanked him for doing the return for me and the guy doesn’t say anything back to me at all, he just stares at me while I walk out. I will never shop at turners again and I think other ppl should start paying attention to companies like turned that are not keeping ppl transactions discrete and private like they should be. Come on the guy told me it’s a way that they can track people that shop at gun stores. I’m very disappointed in...
Read moreAssociate treated me like garbage and straight lied to me. I don’t think they want money from women at this store. I’ve never been treated so rudely in my life. I took a number and waited patiently for 30 minutes for help. I’m a very experienced gun owner. Finally my turn and this short guy with dark black hair was very short with me. Yelled at me twice, kept helping men behind me while it was my turn, but they didn’t for that for me while I was waiting. He did find the snubby pistol in the back I was looking for -he said- but it was the wrong one. Then I asked about a S&W 3 inch and he said it’s not on the CA roster. I said I know it is bc I've seen it and held it. he insisted it was not and I told him I have the 5 inch one. Then he said the 5 inch is on the roster but not the 3 inch. It is literally on Turner's site for sale and as CA compliant. He just did not want to help me. One time he yelled at me loud enough for the whole store to stare. This was because I was holding it straight down next to my side. I asked if it was illegal. He said no but it looks like I'm trying to steal it. Later I was holding it in front of me, down but diagonally while I opened the cylinder, and he snapped at me saying I was pointing it at people.
This was abuse. I said I'll buy the snubby elsewhere...
