The front desk staff was nice and courteous. The Dr. I saw was disrespectful and unhelpful. The fine institution they are affiliated with gave me MRSA 8 years ago during a routine operation. It took 4 surgeries to get the MRSA infected granule out of the wound. That’s the background of how I now have this infectious disease. Since then I’ve had dozens of painful abscesses, some requiring lancing, others requiring surgery. After awhile in the infectious disease department they stopped covering me under surgery after care and insane bills have piled up. I lost my insurance for a bit and bills started piling up, even with a decent job I was unable to pay them. My credit was ruined. I started a family and started rebuilding my credit. I had been treating myself as best as I could for the MRSA, I knew the drill after having abscesses treated dozens of times. The bad ones were on my inner thighs, I work extremely physical labor and from sweating and my legs rubbing together they just kept infecting each other. I have six huge abscesses on my thighs in various states of infection. I had a couple lanced at the ER but they kept getting worse. I also have one gigantic abscess next to my eye and there is so much pressure. I’ve been getting aches behind my eye and sharp pin prick pains when I am sweating.

So I’ve been dealing with these thigh abscesses that are eating away at my flesh and this one bouncy ball sized one next to my eyeball when I finally get insurance again. Make an appt to see the doc at Lakewood family medical center. I explain everything and he says “I have no magical serum to make your problem go away” he didn’t listen to anything I said and prescribed me medicine that I told him had not been working. I said “what about my eye? I’m worried because of the pressure and the headaches and it’s been there for over a year (I’m a little self conscious about it because friends, strangers, even homeless people point it out and ask me about it and warn me about it) and he says “it can’t be causing your headaches, it’s superficial. I guess I can make you an appt with the general surgeon who comes here once a week, ask them at the front desk” at the front desk I’m told i’ll Have to go to Avon (where I was Originally infected with MRSA) to see a plastic surgeon because general surgeons don’t operate on faces. This is going to cost me a fortune even with insurance. The doctor didn’t seem to give a damn about my problems, he was dismissive and acted like I was wasting his time. Over a year of hibiclens washes, bleaching myself, hot compresses, antibiotics, fevers, pain, swelling, draining, being treated like a leper, depression, and fatigue, and this doctor treated me like I was a hypochondriac. Will never go to this practice again.
