House of Pizza has been my family's go-to pizza place for a few years now. We love their cheese steaks as well and the one gentleman who works the counter and answers the phone is ALWAYS very friendly.
However, recently I went in to pick up some food and only one employee had their mask on. I could see in to the kitchen and even the cooks either had their masks under their chins or weren't wearing one altogether. If my family wasn't hungry and waiting on their food, I would have told them to cancel the order. I hate being one of those people, but it was really unacceptable.
I understand that the masks are inconvenient and can be uncomfortable. I imagine the kitchen gets hot and that makes them even more uncomfortable, but I work at a local restaurant myself and our kitchen staff always wears masks. This virus is not a joke. My parents are older and they live in a building with other seniors and immuno-compromised individuals. I can't imagine contracting the virus and exposing these people to it because a cook decided it wasn't comfortable. Perhaps the owner can talk to his staff and let them know that if they get uncomfortable or hot due to the heat and mask , they could step outside for a moment for some relief.
I am upset that I even have to write this. I enjoyed their food and usually have good experiences with the staff, particularly the young man I mentioned before. I also realize that local businesses need our support. However, we should only support these businesses if they show the same care for the health of the community.
I have no personal grudge against the restaurant, it was just very upsetting to see. I appreciate anyone willing to take the time...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I have hectic schedules and liked ordering from here since it fairly close and prices are ok. I have encountered many issues with this place but today was the last straw. I called to make an order and I didn't hear them on the other line. I thought the line went dead when I decided to ask if it was HOP? Well what I got was completely uncalled for. I felt like a child getting yelled at by parent. Completely uncalled for. I was not rude and even apologized and the "so called manager"/"owner" said to me well if you wouldn't have been talking you would have heard me. WTF was that? He was yelling to the point that my boyfriend coming home heard him screaming to me over the phone in the hall way. My bf decided to take the phone from me and heard the man still yelling on the other side. He proceeded to tell him the yelling was uncalled for he started arguing and even invited my boyfriend over to fight. I work in customer service and let me tell you that the customer is not always right but in this case his actions were completely unacceptable. My boyfriend and I decided to meet this person face to face to realize he was an old manwho kept calm and tried to portray a fasade of the innocent person that he is not. I dont like to be treated like crap when feom the beginning all I have given is respect. This person should either get trained on how to treat people or just stay away from ppl and orders. DO NOT RECOMMEND. FINAL...
Read moreSo my boyfriend and I had our first trip to Lancaster and I have to say, it was an amazing trip! I’ll spare you the details! We were passing by House of Pizza and aside from House of Pain, it’s my second favorite house😉 We were shocked to see how unbelievably busy it was. We later found out it was Homecoming so, that made a bit more sense. We were greeted by a very friendly Morgan who was as sweet as the Tiramisu we ended up getting! Shelly and Tina were super busy too but would chime in with some friendly and funny words as we all chatted while we waited for our order. I asked who ran things and Will (who was super nice and funny as .... well, he was REALLY funny) said that George was running the HOP Squad last night. George came over and immediately introduced himself and he was such a pleasure. He held down his team effortlessly. His hospitality was incredible and appreciated. Last but not least, I met The Amazing, The myth, The man, The Legend, Mr. Albert, who at 73 years young could run circles around the guests he was happily cleaning up after (kids, y’all really need to clean up your own shit😘) Thank you HOP for ending our already amazing trip but making it that much better!! Next time we come out, we will definitely stop by!! Food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS and well worth the fair price...
