We had a great time at Escape on Queen! We are a group of 3 who have done 60+ escape rooms. Our game masters (I believe Brandon and Jeremy) made sure we were having fun and had just the right level of participation in helping us escape. The game masters can really make or break an experience and they made it great! In addition, the team helped us adjust their schedule so we could fit the rooms into our schedules and were great about it!
We did all 4 rooms and enjoyed each one. My personal ranking of best to worse: The Tavern (this room starts out unlike any others I’ve done before and I enjoyed something different!), Shipwrecked, September 1777, The Hideout. Without giving anything away, my main complaint with The Hideout is there were a few too many variables (things you could move or do early that messed up the game). However! Even though we did mess something up twice Jeremy was helpful on making sure we stayed on the right track both times. While, none of the these rooms entered my top 5, The Tavern & Shipwrecked are very close due to the uniqueness of the rooms.
I would recommend Escape on Queen to anyone from first time to seasoned players. I would probably suggest Shipwrecked for newer teams and The Tavern for larger, more experienced groups and The Hideout/September 1777 being great for anyone in between.
Also, for Covid, they took it very seriously and required us to wear our masks the whole time, provided hand sanitizer, and I saw them sanitizing the rooms...
Read moreYes, this place looks like a Spa, but it's a legit Escape Room... and so much fun! My wife and I tackled Shipwrecked together and finished with about 17 minutes left. We have escaped many different rooms, so we generally know what patterns we're looking for and don't tend to waste too much time recognizing combinations or figuring out locks. The room was very well decorated with tremendous detail but it was still pretty apparent what was a puzzle piece vice decoration. The puzzles were straight forward and weren't particularly taxing. We didn't get stumped on any one puzzle nor felt an incredible sense of satisfaction for working though a challenge, but regardless, the room still felt overall satisfying. There were a few tricks we'd never seen, the room felt real enough, and the take-home treasure discoveries were a welcome surprise. Game Master Brandon was very attentive to our progress and provided just the right amount of assistance when asked. The only thing keeping us from coming back is the cost. We like to escape for date nights, but their policy of $100+ minimum (paying for 4 players) is easy too much. I hope this is just a COVID policy until teams can be...
Read moreMy siblings and I are avid "Escape Room-ers", we've gone to rooms in D.C., York, Houston TX, and Madison WI... and as far as great escape rooms goes, Escape on Queen is at the top of my list. Beginning from the entrance itself, the waiting area gives off great vibes and is a good place to prep mentally with your group (coffee and couches +amazing aesthetics). We took a group of first-timers to the 1777 room, and everyone, from the newcomers and the experienced players, had a really fun experience. The theme was charming, and the puzzles were challenging but not over-complicated. A mix of both mental and physical engagement kept the pace very interesting, some of the puzzles were so creative that we were still hung up on our achievement long after they were unlocked. :) From the moment you walk into the lobby to the end of the game, you experience amazing quality service; from the interior design, to the room design, and great support from a dedicated staff. Whether this is your first escape room or you're a escape-connoisseur, I highly recommend ...
