This was my first self guided tour of the capital and it was amazing. The first steps into the building and I was taking pictures. Everything that you see is worthy of a photograph. The dome is something that everyone needs to lay down and enjoy. In fact plan ahead and wear a coat so you feel free to lay down. Make sure that your adventures take you through the gallery looking down at all the history. Even the tile floor and door hinges are pieces of art. Plan on spending at least an hour walking around at a steady pace to see everything. On my second trip I will spend more time looking at the paintings of all the former governor's. I was so overwhelmed by the beauty of building that the artwork was secondary. Just touching the handrails and imagining all the past history is awe-inspiring.
