Such a very cool place. Let's start off with the parking. Lots and lots of parking space. Also it was FREE!!!! Talk about already winning before you enter this place. Free parking is such a pleasant surprise here in Las Vegas. Then once you walk in there is great deals to be taken advantage of. Military and local discounts. Children under a certain age in free! I believe it is 3 years or younger is free. Can not remember honestly. But it only cost $16 dollars for my son and I. What a great deal!!!! We went during the Covid-19 virus outbreak and the place was empty. We had the whole place to ourselves. We walked around and enjoyed everything this place has to offer. There is a shark feeding station, dinosaur section, Egyptian section, and every animal you can think of. Lots to learn and so much to be reminded about. Definitely fun for the whole family. If you can take as many pictures as you can because you will want to remember your time here. The gift shop is in the basement next to the African display. It's on the smaller side at the moment and only 4 people are allowed in there at a time. So please be respectful of that. Once you are in the giftshop take advantage of the .25 cent dinosaurs. Lots of cool shirts and great priced toys. After parking, walking around for over an hour looking at displays, entrance fees, and buying eight dinosaurs toys in the gift shop. My total experience cost only $18 dollars. Now that is something worth bragging about. Don't forget to press the buttons on the trex dinosaur. Then you can hear it...
Read moreWe had a great time! Very reasonably priced as well. $70/year for 2 adults and all the kids in your household (I believe not sure the age cap since we just have a 2 year old). We came on a Monday because Discovery Museum is closed Mondays during the school year and these two museum's aren't to far apart.
So glad we did, my little one had a great time. So much to do here for kids and adults. I'll have to bring my husband back soon, he was working, I know he will love it. The give the kids a little scavenger hunt for their time in the museum. They give them a little prize when they leave (tiny plastic frog and beaded necklaces was what they had when we went).
I took a good amount of pictures, but we didn't make it downstairs because someone was ready for a nap. Real fish, small sharks, star fish, seahorse, snake, guinea pig, lizards, tarantula and more. Lots of taxidermy animals and some mechanical dinosaurs 🦕 (the sounds of the dinosaurs were scary for my little one).
It was hard to get my daughter out of the aquarium area. Her next favorite spot was past the dinosaurs where kids could play "find the fossils" and hang out in a fake submarine. Back in the party area (no party at the time) was where the guinea pig and some other insects were. Can't wait to bring her back to see the downstairs!

Aug 2022 Still love coming here. My daughter loved the Di Vinci exhibit (while available). She also finally got the courage to go through the Tombs...
Read moreCame bc I read an article of the newest exhibit. I really liked it. The part that tells you where rocks are used to make a home and the mini question game to identify where certain rock bodies form. Its really neat! I just wish it was bigger. As in, not as condensed. The specimens are great, its just the space. Some exhibits look outdated, like they need to be spruced up and add color. It makes me sad bc ive been to Los Angeles and Denvers museum. This was my first time here and yeah there is a difference. To me its as if this mueseum is dormant, while in the others scientists or students are actively working and borrowing specimens they showcase. The dinosaur section I liked too. Since online classes it was all textbook pictures but here they had a placoderm fossil! He was huge!! The mural was lovely! I really wish there was more information. For example on the left side there was a kiosk type interactive thingy where u push buttons to see evolution. I tried explaining to my pops about development of notochord in the pikaia (i think, looked like a pikaia) that then led to vertebrates and then therapsids to mammals. Although it did show a therapsid, it didnt explain so. Id change the africa exhibit a bit and add bit more info on transition from arboreal to ground dwelling. The skull case is awesome. The rainforest part is great but voice over is a bit long. Overall its a good museum. Cute...
