As a 20 year Desert Storm Veteran, I was utterly disgusted with the level of service I received while donating my deceased wife clothing which was also a Desert Storm Veteran. Upon arrival there was no one there to accept the donation other than a food service worker who only valued the donation at $400 and was told that’s all she could authorize because they had to pay taxes on the items.
Wow......so I came back on the next business day and spoke with the donation manager and advised him there was a "extremely large donation" of new suits, new shoes, new boots and new clothing with the plastic and tags attached left the day before!
He took me in and attempted to locate the donation but it was no where to be found. Apparently they had been ravished through and doubtful that it was given to those who needed it the most.
My wife was a casino executive at Bellagio and these donated items were of exceptional quality. There was upward of over 100 suits, some never worn with the tags on them and of course with shoes to match each suit as well as two closets of casual clothing!
Because he could not locate my donation, he refused to change the value of the items donated. Because the clothing and shoes had vanished. Unacceptable behavior and unprofessional tracking systems in place, the clothing was completely gone from the area where it was supposed to be locked up at.
At this point, I will not be donating any more clothing to this organization and will not utilize them for any referral sources at my place of business. Those brand new shoes, suits, ladies dress boots and clothing most likely went out the back door and probably never made it to any female vet.
Never again for me, Shade Tree conducts themselves with humility and thanks, if your looking for that from this organization, you are highly mistaken. Very sad, very unprofessional, non caring, lack of professionalism, cold experience that has changed my view of this place! Disgraceful to say you represent veterans! No where any honor, integrity or respect was displayed or visible in my two day...

This is not a place to recover from me ch of anything, definitely not substances nor trauma; rather, this is a place to survive until you get a grip on some security. I personally prefer to spend most nights on thestreets.
Worse, this milieu is actually dangerous for the over-educated, righteous, and over-caring/morally sensitive... So if that's you, unless your stay is brief, expect to experience some street trauma.
Overall the average maturity level here feels like that of middle school - just this past month I had to ward off at least two attempted-bullies. Almost everyone here is either clammed up in fear, confusion or despair, or they are seeking a way to take advantage of you, if not physically, then emotionally or financially ( ...and here in Las Vegasar are the world's best!).
I've witnessed schadenfreude more times in my 2 months here than perhaps the rest of my life.
Otherwise, there are a number of great staff members here, but they seem...
