UPDATE: The district manager and store manager contacted me and are working to correct this. They are submitting a claim to reimburse me for my artwork and more to make this right. Paulette had amazing customer service. I wish I spoke with her during my first interactions, and my review would have been 5 star.
I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but this is unacceptable and I feel a need to share.
I had an absolutely horrible experience at Michael's framing department. I spent ~$400 on two custom frames. 1. It took absolutely forever to get help to make the order. 2. Once the order was placed, there's an estimated delivery time. My order was apparently received and "a new girl misplaced it" so they had to reorder it. The order finally came in another week later and it was only for ONE of the two frames. I was told the second frame would be ready the following day, pending filigree arrival. The next day the frame still wasn't ready. The very rude customer service rep, Kelli, said "well I can just refund your money and you can go somewhere else". I said "ok". She then proceeded to have such a terrible attitude - rolled her eyes, said "what, you want it out of there" - yes, if you're refunding my money, I don't need the item. 3. When she returned my diploma, I check it and it was ripped. She said "it's not ripped" I showed her where it was and she said "call the 1800 number and file a claim". I asked to speak to a manager. She said she's the manager. When I called the 1800 number they confirmed she is not the manager so the manager and district manager have been notified. update store confirmed she was the acting manager on duty.
This is ridiculous. What should have been an exciting experience- framing diplomas- was an absolute nightmare.
What also needs to be said, the other customer service representative in framing, with arm tattoos, was always very nice and professional in our interactions. She clearly felt uncomfortable when Kelli called her to come back and...
Read moreDo NOT use their photo framing department. I was burned not once but twice by them . The first time I had 20 X 30 prints put on poster-board and the glue I waited two days to mount to allow the glue to dry and you guessed it, it failed. This ruined both pictures, causing dents in the corners and looking like a 5th grader did the work. I figured it was a freak thing so I trusted Michaels with a panoramic smaller print. This time they told me it would be ready in three days, I go in to collect my pictures on day three and lo and behold they aren't done. The teen behind the counter flat out lies to me and says it was next to be completed and to come back in an hour and a half. By this point I am done with Michael's but I just want my picture done. So I wait. I call after two hours and she tells me she was just about to call me...right, sure you were! But instead of them saying it is done she is telling me she cut an inch into my picture with an exacto (SP) knife. She offered me a refund on the work but I feel guilty since it was mounted so I pay for it and just want to be done with Michaels. One week later the glue failed and they ruined the third picture. I should have never gone back for a second time, but you know the saying... shame on me. So PLEASE don't make the same mistake I made..twice... Go...
Read moreBesides looking for a cross pendant for my birthday chain, I was on a mission trying to find yarns in certain colors for my prayer shawls and lap throws (recently started crocheting and knitting again! Just a soothing 😌 hobby, at least for me!). I did find one color and was happy to find the skein weighing one pound for $9.99. I love the fact that Michael's gives me a 10% seniors discount. Also, discovered Christmas candles for 60% off! Couldn't resist putting some in my basket! (I could have, but jar candles for $2.80...🤩, great see-through containers for my odds and ends after using candle and cleaning up the jars!!! More than worth the expense!) Had to get out of there because I didn't want to bust my budget 😂! There was no waiting at the register at all. After greeting me Adrianna told me she was out of the wrap for jar candles. We just agreed to individually put them in plastic bags and then two each in another bag. I was still on my mission for more yarn and cross pendant.
