I'm giving 1 star because I will make an effort to never return to this store again. I work in retail so I understand that when customers make returns that it's not an exciting feeling, I also understand that I want the customer to feel guilt free and happy to return again no matter how they treat me.
Today I returned 2 pair of shoes with a receipt. The shoes were purchased for a trip out of state, 1 of the shoes didn't fit well and the other I simply didn't want to keep. I'm setting up this story to say there was an error when scanning the receipt. I had my receipt and even those it had water stains it was still legible to read and the cashier was able to scan it. There were zero issues until the cashier scanned the receipt and said 1 of the shoes I purchased was already returned. The cashier told me she will return one shoe and the other will have to be store credit ( I shook my head, and said "this is strange").
I mentioned that the result wasn't possible because I haven't shopped at Ross for months and I only have 1 receipt for proof. I even mentioned, I have nothing to hide, I just want to return the shoes. The manager was called and I stood to the side until she appeared. The cashier and manger spoke to each other...By then I felt like they were looking at me like I'm a scam artist, she explained that the screen says the shoes have been returned (That makes no sense to me).
At the end of conversation, I finally received a refund with no apology or clarity of the situation. The manager mentioned that people tend to return items to many stores, that people run scams and that she was looking for another receipt that had the refund (but I only have 1 receipt). The only words I said in anger were (this will be my last time shopping here for sure, this is so strange).
I called corporate before driving home, the representative was kind and explained that there was no return made and it was a mistake made by the cashier/manager. I'm sharing this because I feel that when you speak to customers you should never insinuate that they are lying or stealing, you should always apologize, and leave them with a comment that encourages them to return again (especially if they are responding calmly and they...
Read moreOn 8/26/25 I went to the Ross on 646. I tried on a pair of North Face shoes that had a tag which said 27.99. ONE WEEK ago my sister bought a pair of North Face shoes for same price. As I was shopping around store, an employee came up to me and said the shoes were buzzing and took them to stop it. I had been walking around for about 10 min. and did not realize it. She finally brought the shoes back to me after trying to give them to several other ladies in the store. When I got to the register the tag was not on the shoe. I immediately asked why the employee had removed the tag. Jay the manager reviewed the camera and said he did not see that on the camera. I asked if he had seen me on camera trying shoe on he said no, I did try the shoe on. Jay was rude and disrespectful. I retraced my steps and found the tag near the area where she had taken the shoes. Jay said because the tag was not on the shoe and it wasn't on the shoe he could not honor the price. My sister came to the store and brought her shoes with the same intact price tag. I was the told the actual price was on bottom of shoes. The shoes that had a tag with 27.99 were 110 dollars. Really? I was made to feel I was a liar, criminal, and the embarrassment was horrible. My sister returned her shoes so they could change the price or the markings on the bottom of the shoes. Jay is inept as a manager and is missing the honesty and integrity that is valued in sales. Customer service is zero. I don't steal...
Read moreWorst experience ever, If I could I would give 0 stars. Iv been shopping at this Ross for years and not once had i experienced what i did Yesterday. Needless to say they lost a loyal customer. My son is special needs and occasionally will have a meltdown in stores. To make the situation better i simply remove him from his surroundings (usually we go back to the truck) This was the situation we were in yesterday. As I was walking to the door while caring him everyone staring at us (which is usually normal) but this time as I’m almost out the door I hear someone laughing. I look back and it was the Ross employees. I turned And looked at the security as she’s laughing and simply say, you laughing doesn’t make this situation any better. Thank you! She says sorry and continues to laugh.
My mom was also there with me and she ended up going to check out and when she was checking out every employee at the registers were also laughing at me and my son. The employees were not professional at all, i had Never felt so humiliated by adults.
This team needs to be addressed and educated on what to do in situations like this. Honestly just not laughing is a good start.
I reached out to the store manager and not once did I get an apology only that he would address it with the team. This store needs serious attention and better management.
