Worst experience at a Goodwill. I purchased a pair of shoes for my husband one day that turned out to be too big. I went back (13 days later) to return them, having never been worn, price sticker still on, and with my receipt in hand. I was informed that their return policy was 7 days. The cashier then told me, "I'm sorry the person who rung you up didn't tell you." To which I responded, " YOU were the one who rung me up, so YOU were the one who didn't tell me." Then she replied, "Well, it says it on the bottom of the receipt." I looked again, just to be sure, and sure enough it DID NOT state anywhere about the return policy. So I asked her to show me where that was printed. She looked it over and was like, "Uhh--well do you want to speak to a supervisor?" I said yes please. The supervisor came out and only said, "yep 7 days--you're WAY over that!" And I told her, "Where is your return policy? It should be printed on the receipt." She started looking around the store, and finally spotted a sign high up on the wall with a list of policies--that to my mind I would not have EVER noticed had it not been pointed out. So let's be honest--she had no clue where it was, so I don't know why a customer would be expected to know. I then asked her if she thought it was reasonable for a customer to have the search the walls at every store they shop at to find the return policy, and that MOST stores have it written on their receipt. She told me very condescendingly, "Yep, that is what I suggest you do." So now I'm out $13 plus tax and stuck with shoes that won't be used. I told her I would take the store credit (first policy listed on the sign), because I had planned to look for more items anyway, but she refused. So instead of making more money off of me (because I like to find items there and DIY fix them up), they lost a customer. It's a shame because I just moved back into the area, just bought a house and wanted to get a lot of project items there, but I guess they don't mind losing a customer. I have no problems with their return policy, but it should be clearly printed on the receipt (like every OTHER store in America) or at the least in BOLD at the cashier station. Guess I could donate the shoes and they can make twice the profit. Thanks Goodwill! Looks like I'm going to Savers and Salvation Army...
Read moreLilian, an employee of this goodwill location held the fitting room door open while I was half dressed. I was literally holding my arms over myself in shock and attempting to minimize the exposure while she told me in Spanish repeatedly that they are closing at 8:00 and I need to be gone by 8:00. After I said to her calmly multiple times that I understand; and please close the door she kept holding the door open anyway reiterating the store closing time while simultaneously exposing me to the people left in the store. I was shocked and humiliated. My daughter attempted to pull the door closed for me as I was still covering myself with my arms so I could get my clothes back on and the employee just kept pulling the fitting room door back open forcefully repeating the time that the store was set to close. There were 3 of us in different fitting rooms at the time, we waited for over 10 min to get in there and she decided to hold my door open while I was partially dressed. I wish I could file charges, I wish I wasn’t so shocked that I paid for all the stuff I couldn’t try on and just left. I wish my daughter hadn’t seen that. I wish they didn’t act like the language barrier is the reason why it is okay for her to cause that kind of harm to me. Lilian the employee who exposed me then rolled her eyes at me when I left the dressing room behaved in such a disgusting way and didn’t seem even bit remorseful. This was a horrible experience. Be careful here.- Your reply is disingenuous. I called the corporate number and got no response or call back, yet you want to leave this typical ” I’m sorry that happened to you we are looking into it response? (Looking into it by contacting store mgmt who I already spoke to prior to leaving the location and they told me that they would get someone to translate to the employee who has worked there for at least a year to not do that anymore.) As I said before, be weary of this location and this company. How they handled the situation in the week since it happened has only added to the disgust I feel in regards to what that employee did to me...
Read moreThis Leander Goodwill (Crystal Falls and 183) is a very poor store - in selection, cleanliness, number of employees to ask questions of, organization, etc. but ESPECIALLY in customer service. Really...the cashiers are ridiculous. They are terribly, terribly slow (over 15 minutes to check out with ONE person ahead of me with about 10-12 items) and I find them terribly rude and not personable at all. In fact, they don't even try to be friendly or even marginally courteous. One won't even speak even as I try to be amiable to her. I go out of my way to be nice to cashiers and other store workers in any and every store I enter because I've worked in retail myself, but they are rude no matter what I say or what I do. Today I was in the store standing next in line when my older teen son called me and told me he was done early at an event. With a calm, normal voice told him to stay in the building and I would be there asap. Both cashiers HEARD ME say this - turned around and looked at me - and deliberately and painstakingly slowed down their already very slow movements, looking at the women they were checking out with an eyeroll and "can you believe this" expression. I didn't demand special treatment of the cashiers, I didn't ask for special treatment from the two ladies they were checking out, I didn't communicate anything in any way. I just told my son to wait inside for me, never addressing anyone other than my son, and they apparently took offense as if I were demanding they hurry up. I'm hoping I never have need to step in this store again. I've been there frequently spending a great deal of money because I am the costume director for my community theater, but no more. I will go to Savers instead or the store on 183 in Cedar Park, where I almost always had a good experience. Not that the manager or...
