Came in to have my wife’s ring stretched half a size. Was told it “can’t” be done here, and must be sent out for weeks, cut, have gold added, and cost $100. I’ve worked in jewelry, and in many cases a half-size stretch is a simple, in-house, 5-minute job with the right tools—no upsell required.

Instead of offering a quick, fair fix (or clearly explaining why this ring was an exception), they jumped straight to the slow, expensive option. For a small, straightforward request, a good business would charge a fair price, handle it on the spot, and win a customer for life. This felt more like overselling a simple job than genuine customer service.

I asked for a watch battery replacement and to have the watch cleaned. The young lady stated she understood. She would remove the band put in the ultrasonic cleaner, replace the battery, and clean the watch.
