Instead of offering a quick, fair fix (or clearly explaining why this ring was an exception), they jumped straight to the slow, expensive option. For a small, straightforward request, a good business would charge a fair price, handle it on the spot, and win a customer for life. This felt more like overselling a simple job than genuine customer service.
