OVERVIEW - 3.8 I probably come here too often.
LOCATION - 4 Located next to the free is a nice location, but could be a little complex getting there without a little exploring and the help of a GPS.
PRICE - 2 When my wife and myself come here the total come close to $20 each time, if I was patient enough to wait, I could just watch the movie on DVD/BluRay multiple times for the same price. I would recommend not buying your tickets online where possible, as they charge a $2 "convenience" (or maybe it is a processing) fee per ticket. A complete ripoff. Obviously the price of concessions are typically overpriced, just like the price of a movie ticket.
PRODUCT/SERVICE - 3 After the several times I've gone, there are problems maybe once every one out of fifteen times, usually they're something small like mismatched audio, no visual, etc. It also seems like as of lately, the quality of the concessions has really diminished.
POINTERS/PERKS - 5 Before even going to see your first movie here, I would strongly recommend getting your very own Megaplex Reward Card (and then register it online). Many discounts come from this card such as a free small popcorn, free small drink, $1 matinee price, etc. I would also recommend coming to see your movies here on Tuesdays as they charge $5 per adult. They also offer discounts on some concessions as well. If you have a child that is 3 or under, be sure to mention that they'll be sitting on your lap, because they'll charge you a child's price for a ticket! ($6.75) To me this seems like a total rip-off because my child won't even remember the movie.
EMPLOYEES - 5 The employees are rather friendly, and I don't think I've ever had any issues with them, as we come to see movies. For example, last night the guy that takes the tickets, asked us what movie we had seen as we were leaving (he was rather aged probably in his 60s), and chatted...
Read moreWe went to the Thanksgiving Point Megaplex last Saturday evening to see the Minecraft movie. I donât remember the exact time, but it was around 8 PM. Before we even walked into the theater, we were given a lecture not to yell things like âchicken jockeyâ or throw stuffâbasically a warning about behavior we had no intention of doing. It felt kind of unnecessary and a bit awkward.
Once we got in, tickets were checked and we sat down to enjoy the movie. Not long after it started, tons of kids began sneaking into the theater. Two of them came right up to us, yelled at us to move, and were incredibly rude and disruptive. We chose to ignore them and instead let an employee know. The employee asked us to wait for a moment, but didnât say anything to the kids.
Then another employee started going around checking tickets, asking people to leave, which was also disruptive. A few minutes later, they paused the movie, turned the lights on, and started yelling for anyone without a ticket to get out. There was a police officer present as well. The interruption lasted about 5 minutes.
Even after all of that, the kids who were bothering us stayed. They didnât have tickets and even called the employee a slur, which was really disturbing. We reported them again, but nothing was done.
The entire experience was extremely uncomfortable. The movie was interrupted, the lights came on in the middle of the show, and we were surrounded by inappropriate and disrespectful behavior. It completely ruined the night for us.
They did offer us a free ticket to come back, but honestly, that didnât feel like fair compensation. We paid for tickets, bought concessions, took time out of our night, and ended up in a situation that felt chaotic and gross. A single movie voucher doesnât really make up for what we...
Read moreI typically love movies and love megaplex, however I had been travelling and accidentally booked a movie showing for a theater that was close to where I normally live. When I got to the theater and they informed me that the ticket was for the wrong location. I was heartbroken but hopeful as I had always had great experience in the past with assistance. The employee told me to head over to the box office portion and they would be able to help me and get things sorted out easily. After 10 minutes of waiting, things were not sorted out, the employee that came over was unable to assist me and would not get me new tickets or showtimes. Since the showtime had started but was an hour away I couldn't cancel through the app. I showed proof of purchase but the employee kept saying I would have to purchase new tickets since their location is different. I asked if there was any work around or anything they can do since it didn't make sense since the megaplex pass allows me to use my tickets for any type of seat at any megaplex location. They told me know and that the most they could do was sell me new tickets that I would have to pay for or to contact Atom support. Lack of customer service to resolve my issue, I'm still trying to work with Atom support who keeps telling me the theater is the one who would have to fix it. I was appalled by how uncaring the theater was. I'm out two tickets and I will avoid this location moving forward as I have never had such a horrible and...
