Council's Mattress & Furniture — Attraction in Lexington

I had a terrible experience with Council's Furniture and Mattress. Initially I was so excited to shop for furniture at Council's. The day that I ordered my furniture Mr. Council's daughter, Jasmine, helped me make selections and assisted me with my purchase. She seemed very nice and customer service savvy. The next day I decided to make a change to my order and called her to inform her of the changes I wanted to make, she seemed angry about my decision but I decided to proceed because the bottom line is that I spend my hard earned money on products that I want. She advised me that since I changed my order the product would not be available until a month or so later. After month went by, I called to check to see if it was available. She told me it would be another month until it comes in (the first week in April). Again I was fine with that because it seemed fair since I did change my selection. On the other hand, there were other items that were ordered during my initial visit that I still had not received. I called her in late March to inquire about my furniture, at that time she informed me that the table would be available the first week in April. When ask about the other furniture that I ordered she said she would need to check on it. She called me back and stated the furniture would be available a few days after the table is delivered and she did not know what happened to my order. My impression was that she simply forgot or blatantly ignored my order. Due to that fact that I should have had my furniture months earlier, minus the table that was (I'm guessing) on back order I ask her for free delivery. I feel as if that was the least Council's Furniture could have done since my order was totally disregarded and I'd been patiently waiting for months. When I ask Ms. Jasmine Council about the possibility of free delivery she stated, with a terrible attitude, "I will let you know tomorrow", and she hung up in my face. There was no reason for her to be angry with me, I'm the one that should have been angry. Since then I have not spoken to any member of the Council's Furniture and Mattress staff. Also, I've not received the last few pieces of furniture that I am currently making payments on. Honestly, I do not want the furniture, I would rather take my business elsewhere. The bar stoles that I purchased from Council's are already falling apart and I've only had them since February. My advice to anyone out there in the market for furniture DO NOT GO TO COUNCIL'S FURNITURE AND MATTRESS!! A year and a half ago I wanted to buy a sofa with a chaise on the end. After shopping around for quite a while, these guys had the best price, and the models they offered were exactly what I was looking for. Staff was very nice and accommodating. I looked around the store for a while and took my time, finally deciding on the model I currently own. I was advised that they had a return of this model for a discounted price and I jumped at the chance. Awful Mr. Council start off nice and concerned. Once you make a purchase his Customer Service flies right out the window. I bought furniture in May and got it in October. Can you believe he wanted me to Pay before I got the furniture. Who does that? Then he want to pop off about what if and references other furnitute companies, He will tell you one thing and don't relay information to staff. His commercial is a life. Wolf in sheep clothing!
