This is a review of the opticians and staff on the store side, as I was not there to see an optometrist. Five stars for atmosphere, environment, location, and, most importantly, for service and staff! My optician's name was Mr. Marcus Minix, and he was excellent! It is obvious he really cares about his job and his customers. Although it's on Nicholasville Rd, the store itself is easy to get to b/c it's in Lexington Green behind the Shell station just off of the Nicholasville Rd exit if you're coming from New Circle. No getting into traffic for those who purposefully stay away from the busy road.
As soon as I walked into the door of the store side, a sweet girl immediately greeted me and asked how I could be helped. I had to have three pairs of eyeglasses adjusted, which meant no eyeglasses sales or revenue for them. I assumed I would be taken care of and rushed out for that reason. The girl who greeted me was kind and made small talk as she directed me to a chair. I had just been to another eye vision store, but they do not carry the brand of two of my pairs, Tiffany, and the lady there had agreed that I should go somewhere that carried it. The store has a bright and positive atmosphere. The front of the business consisted of full-length windows, so there was a lot of natural lighting. The other people working who were helping others were smiling and being very conversational. I notice these things, because I appreciate people who love their job. It seemed as though one person being helped was catching up the LensCrafters employee on her family, which if you're from a small town, that is normal. To be in a business on busy Nicholasville Rd in Lexington, KY, it's not so common. That's the level of caring and individual attention this place provides. As soon as I sat down, one of the opticians, Mr. Minix, greeted me and said he would be right with me. While waiting for him, which was only a couple of minutes, another optician asked if I had been helped yet. So far, in a matter of a few minutes, three people had greeted me and asked how I could be helped. Especially at this time of year, I have to wait a while sometimes before getting helped or even greeted. Mr. Minix was very conversational, took his time, and did not rush at all. The precision with which he adjusted my glasses was impressive, and he talked and had a great sense of humor the entire time. I even asked about why they fold oddly, and he did something else to them that made them fold perfectly. I also asked him to check the pair that the other eye vision store had adjusted, and he adjusted them a little more. I liked that he is such a perfectionist with his work, a very efficient perfectionist. By the time I left, it was as if I had three brand-new pairs of perfectly folding glasses. He even made a slight adjustment to my sunglasses. While they did not make any eyeglasses sales off of me yesterday, I will return to that location when I want to purchase a new pair. Even if you go to a different optometrist than the one here at LensCrafters, I recommend going to get your glasses here. Easy all around five stars!...
Read moreCalled Friday and asked about my new insurance. Spoke with Rebecca and she informed me she had a customer in front of her and would call me back. She never returned my call. Went in Saturday and spent hours picking out new frames and requested they hold them until I returned with my prescription. The associate was either insanely busy or just always that rude but I was told I had 3 days. I returned on Tuesday and was informed my frames were sold and they were no longer in stock. The manager(I assume she is a manager based on how she acted and I think her name was Rebecca) let the associate handle the issue and never once apologized for the mistake. The associate did her best dealing with it but was left helpless and had no idea how to resolve the issue(I think she was a newer employee). She told me I had to pick out new frames and walked away. Spent more time picking out new frames and finally checked out. The frames were on sale for $142 but my total was $500. I knew the cost was going to be high but I've always had an amazing experience here. In the past, customer service was great but this time, not so much. Maybe it was because these were all new employees or maybe it was just bad timing. No matter how nice we were though or how little we complained and assured the associate it wasn't her fault, it always felt like we were imposing on them for shopping there. It was the first time I've been there and felt like I was being looked down on. Like we weren't good enough to shop there if that makes sense. I bought my glasses there and paid the $500 because they do have the best lenses I've found. The glasses I got at VisionWorks started to peel in about 10 months and when I noticed it was peeling and not because I scratched them(I thought maybe I had dropped them and did it at some point), I was told my warranty had expired the week before. At other places, I've broken the frames or the nose pieces but I've always had good luck with Lenscrafters glasses. I plan on continuing to go to them for glasses but I will not be returning to this location. If you go...plan on spending more than other places. I got $50 off my frames(just a coupon. Not a discount for the issue) and they were $142. These were name brand but still quite a bit below the average there. My lenses had 3 options...blue light, ultra thin and reflective and they were about $360. They are only single vision so, bifocals may be more I'm not sure. They are the best quality lenses I have found though and I've tried 3 other places(VisionWorks, Walmart, ValueVision). Hope this helps and I hope you have a better experience than I did. I'm really hoping the location in Hamburg is more like the old Lenscrafters I know or I'll be shopping for a new place to...
Read moreI would give this location minus stars if I could! I have been a long time customer who selected their location because it was beautiful, not because it was close. However, this time was very disappointing! From the first visit with my new prescription, I was told to wait three days and, inspite of a phone call telling my adult daughter who lives on her own, not me, that my glasses were ready. When I rushed over to the store, crossing from far north of town to their location, they were nowhere to be found, in fact, they were sent back to be redone! Calmly, I accepted the upsetting news that the person who had called my daughter forgot to tell me that the message was an error. I was flabbergasted. But I did think to ask why they had called my daughter and not me. I also gave them my telephone number. After several days, I called them to see if my glasses were ready, and I was curtly told that I would be contacted. Waiting a few more days until I received the call that my glasses had been returned, I crossed town again, but when I put them on, my vision was not good, but was told that I had to get used to them. After a few days trying, I went back to the dollar store reading glasses! I contacted the shop again, at first I was told that I had only purchased reading glasses for $35, and that they wouldn't correct the vision in my right eye. I promptly said that that was incorrect information, that I had paid several hundred dollar s that had already cleared my bank! Then the attendant realized that she was looking at a duplicate record and she told me to return to see what was wrong. When the LensCrafters attendant on duty looked closer at the lenses, even she was shocked! She said the reading area was too small and very low on the lens to be of any use, so they would have to go back to the lensmakers to be redone. After several days, I received a text message to cross town again. Finally my glasses were done correctly. But since they didn't call me, I don't even know if my personal information has been corrected, but I am definitely not going back to...
