Visited back in early December and just getting around to doing this review. It's an interesting store that feels like a museum. The bourbon, and yes even the rare stuff, was overpriced compared to competitors that sell similar fare. Worth a walk through? I'd say yes. But there's nothing there worth the money. They have some local art, which may be the best part. Honestly, these people should just run a bourbon art store, because they may do better. I'm not a cheap man. I like nice things. But yeah, the prices just didn't make sense when I was in a store in Louisville just a week prior that had better prices on MANY of these items. Man at the store was somewhat rude. Not sure if he was the owner or an employee. He acted like he was either owner or management as far as how he talked/held himself. But again, can't be certain if this was an ownership of staff problem. He didn't state that he was the owner, so I don't want to state that he was. In general, below mediocre establishment. Doesn't feel like a store. Feels like whoever owns it is inexperienced in retail. Again though, there are some neat items, especially as far as local art, so maybe worth walking through if you're stuck on the south end of...
Read moreWe stopped in Thursday and I immediately spotted a pair of rocking chairs that I was trying to spot a tag for. The person working in the store, a gentleman, was talking with someone at the counter when we came in and I didn't interrupt but at no point did the gentleman even pause to say hello or welcome. I wondered around and looked at other things and even returned to the rocking chairs to see if they had any detail tags whatsoever because I really was interested in them to buy. We ended up leaving after a few minutes and I won't be back. Even when I was near his counter and they weren't talking he didn't make an effort to greet me or my husband. He lost a sale of a set of rocking chairs. Handmade from Kentucky was too irresistible to pass up but I did. I'll be...
Read moreI have known Brian for a few years, super nice. I took my husband into The Barrel Market for the first time today. Huge variety of bourbons to choose, some, very hard to find anywhere else. Interesting history behind some of the bourbons in there. I am not a bourbon drinker, but, Brian introduced me to a shot called, "Bear Necessity". It was delicious!!! Barrel Market not only sells bourbons, but, awesome furniture, and, accessories made out of barrel staves. Check them out. Located in the Summit, in...
