Gateway Mall — Attraction in Lincoln

I grew up in Lincoln and this was always one of the best time passer places to go. Over the years, with online shopping, natural progression has shown strong signs of phasing out the mall scene, Gateway is no exception. Sears and JCPenney wing have nearly nothing appealing in them. Lots and lots of empty space in these areas. By Dillards and the food court is where most of the more lucrative stores are, thus it’s much busier in that area. The food court is showing signs of demise with unknown food vendors that often have no customers or empty spaces, again just showing more definitive signs that in a short matter of time, malls will be a thing of the past. I was glad to see how busy Gateway was today however with more people the social distancing spaces between each of was were nearly non existent. My family and I decided to grab a snack while shopping. The lines were long at places such as Panda Express and Firestone pizza. Once we got through the food line, we were tasked with attempting to find seating. The tables that weren’t full were filthy. Lots of food/trashed lined the floors. We finally found a table, still filthy but cleaner than any others we had passed. After we ate we had to visit the restroom before heading out, much like the food court it too was not well sanitized, and during a still an active pandemic. Today I sent my 17 year old daughter into the palace to get a ballpark range on a prom dress that she be interested in. Her and one of her friends who took her to Lincoln cuz I live roughly an hour away from Lincoln went into there to look. The individual that helped them or suppose try to Greet them was rude and no help at all. This individual asked both these girls if they were serious about buying a dress or if they were just there for fun. Then insisted on them both going into the same dressing room to try on dresses and take absolutely no pictures while trying them on. I as a mother in flabbergasted about the whole situation. I guarantee you if I was with them this would not have taken place. I don't think they took into consideration that a lot of these girls go in to get a ballpark range on price so they know what they have to come up with and of course they want to try them on and if their mother or parents are not with them to see the dress what's the harm in taking a picture of them in a dress? Mall Management is unorganized what i mean by this they would rather spend more money on opening up new store then fixing the broken sink in restroom, broken door, locks including the floor tile. Or spend more money on fixing up their own office then buying new equipment for Housekeeping , Maintenance, security team. Can't expect greatness from housekeeping , maintenance nor security if you set your counter partner up for failure by not providing workable equipment.

Security team has a lot of vulnerable spot. Visible is very important i didn't see one foot patrol officer walking around it was very busy today on Jan 31 2021 . I seen one officer in security car twice within 50mins.
