MW climbing is the best! I really enjoy being able to get in a workout without the awkward social pressures that exist in traditional gyms. Climbers of all levels come together and encourage each other to overcome the unique challenges that each one faces on a given day, which builds a community of support that is an amazing thing to experience. Whether struggling to complete a new boulder route, going through routine excercises on the workout equipment to get in or stay in shape, or even just hanging out to decompress after a long day at work, the community and vibe at MW climbing is unmatched, and I couldn't say better things about my experiences there since they've opened. If you've never tried climbing, or if you think it looks super fun, but are worried that the physical barriers to entry into the activity are too high, I highly encourage stopping in for a visit. You'll learn very quickly that there are fun and exciting ways for people of all ages, shapes, sizes, abilities, and motivations to come together and share a common experience that is fun and a great workout for both the body and mind. 10/10...
Read moreSUPER excited Lincoln finally has a climbing gym outside of UNL's!! Im surprised it took someone this long to finally open one (ofc COVID didnt help), and I hope this place gets the hype it deserves so it can expand. Its bouldering only (no top rope) but is already 3x the size of the UNL climbing center, plus its MUCH more accessible (especially in terms of parking). I'll admit that the difficulty jump between a v0-v1 to a v2-v3 is too vast in my opinion, meaning most routes were either too easy or too hard for me and not adequately challenging... but that just means I need more practice right? Also according to their website routes will be reset pretty frequently which is a huge plus. Pretty sure UNL's gym still has routes up from last year...
Also gotta love that theyre super upfront and clear about pricing, and offer adding an another person to your membership at a...
Read moreIt’s rare I write a review or feel so passionately about a place in such a short period of time. I’ve grown up on a competitive climbing team going to gyms all over the country from ages 12-17. I stopped into this rock gym on a cross country drive and many others in major cities but this one has been maybe my all time favorite gym. I had a hard time leaving and genuinely considered moving here just for the gym; community, setting and wall use! I was greeted by such genuine and supportive staff and it was evident that the community there was something special! Grateful for...
