Normally I have always had a wonderful experience and choose Target over other stores. Today was the first time since I started shopping at Target that it was absolutely awful.
Upon the entrance to the store, the two trash cans outside were so full the garbage was on the ground! I went directly to customer service and told them. Yet when I left 40+ minutes later, they were still full!!! It wasn't until I was driving away after loading my purchases was someone changing it.
Upon arrival to the food section many shelves were bare. I wanted to buy Far East Rice Pilaf but only could get two boxes of it because all the boxes were mangled and should've never been on the shelf. When I got to the refrigeration section, I went through an entire row of block cheese and all of them were expired from March/May and one even had mold growing on it. I went to the customer service phone and pressed one. I was told by a recording that a team member would be there to help me in 60 seconds. No one came to me. I had to find a team member to tell them about the blocks of cheese.
When I went to get a container of Ajax, it was mangled on the bottom and went all over my feet and legs. Ajax was all over the shelf.
At the registers there were no more than 4 open. I have never seen so few open on a mid-Saturday afternoon.
After check out, I went to the food section to get a special Mermaid drink for my child. After paying $2.15, I had asked about the special sprinkles only to be told that they were all out. Why wasn't a discount given? At the counter getting the special mermaid drink, it was a mess with sticky soda all over it and left over straw wrappers.
As I left the store, I had to walk by the overfull trash cans again!
I have been going to this Target since I moved to my house 15 years ago, I have never had an experience like this one. If this happens again, I don't plan to go to Target anymore and I am a RedCard member for so many years that...
Read moreDuring my recent visit to the store, I went with my wife and newborn son to purchase some baby supplies. We decided to go to Target store for this purpose. After we finished shopping, we headed to the registry to check out. However, we noticed that there was a long queue. We then saw that the self-register was open, so we decided to head towards it. As we were scanning the baby supplies, an older woman who was working there caught our attention. I politely asked her to hold a pair of pants for me that I couldn't afford, but to my surprise, she started rolling her eyes and giving me attitude for no apparent reason. Her behavior made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. To make matters worse, the older woman then grabbed the pants from my hands in an aggressive manner. It was clear that she was targeting my family because of our skin color. I was shocked and hurt that someone could be so blatantly racist towards us. The older woman then proceeded to whisper in the ear of an older man who came to replace her, pointing her fingers at my family. Despite this, the older man was kind and didn't listen to whatever the older woman was saying about us. He came over to our family with a smile and offered his help and support. His kindness made us feel more at ease and welcomed. However, the hurtful experience with the older woman still left a bitter taste in our mouths. I would not recommend this Target store to anyone who is black or belongs to any other...
Read moreTwo of us were in line at the fitting room. The attendant let the woman in front of me in, then disappeared. All the fitting room doors were locked, so I waited 5…10…then 15 minutes for the attendant to come back. No one in sight.
I went to another department to ask for help; the called to the back and said someone would be right out. Waited another 10 minutes (and even called the store, but got put on hold) and then went to ask someone else. They said the attendant had an emergency so there would be no one able to unlock the fitting room. I asked if he or anyone else could grab the key, and he said no—it had to be that person.
I spoke to another employee who said the same thing—that everyone was taking care of fulfillment orders so they couldn’t help me. (Can’t help someone who is standing right in front of you for 2 minutes?) At this point I was like, come on, using a key isn’t rocket science, and finally they called someone for the key. I hate to lose my patience, but really?! We all use keys in our daily lives, so why is it so hard to get anyone from Target to use one?! Terrible customer service.
Also - if you’re going to have security tags on your clothes, you should probably make it so the self-checkout flags an employee to remove them. They didn’t beep leaving the store, so now I’m home googling how to remove the security tags on my own so I don’t have to go back there and beg...
