Lahout's - America's Oldest Ski Shop — Attraction in Littleton

HORRIBLE experience here yesterday. Did a day hike to lonesome lake. When I got down - noticed that my Teva sandals were falling apart. Decided to make a run north to Littleton to patronize this classic location for replacements. Went in looking for exactly what I had - and was quickly directed to it by the gentleman working down there. Put the new ones on and put the old ones in the shoe box. Went upstairs and straight to the register to finish my $110.00 purchase. It had been a great day, I was giddy. Then? I asked nicely if they would throw away the box containing my old shoes. The answer was a brusque and unqualified NO. Not an I'm sorry we don't do that. More of a you're dead to us NO. From patron they're glad to accept $110.00 from to pond scum in like five seconds? A second lady lamely offered that they had "already taken the trash out". I was stunned. I apologized for the apparent temerity of my request, though I honestly have no idea why it was offensive. I left with new sandals on my feet but an overwhelming feeling of insult and abuse. I hope this last sale was...

Nice place to shop for all your winter clothes and boots , they carry a perfect variety of all the top brand names. I bought a pair of keen boots from this location and I am very picky about my boots. These are the best boots I have ever owned. Bought my son a pair of bogs , he is extremely happy with them. This is definitely money well spent. In store staff always super friendly. Thanks Lahout's
