I’ve been here about 5 times for hair cuts from multiple barbers. Each time I showed up a few minutes early and still had to wait about 15-20 minutes for them to be finished with the previous client. I never had any issues with this, until...
The one time I showed up 10 minutes late, they refused to serve me because I was not on time. They refused to be flexible and stressed that 45 minutes is required for a haircut (even though every other time it only took 30, and even if it did take longer than 45 minutes they have no issues making the next client wait for 15-20 minutes).
So now my barber is going to sit around for 30 minutes and not make money because it would be “too difficult” to do in 35 minutes what they usually do in 45. At some point, common sense should just tell you that some flexibility would be better for both the barber and the client so both get what they want.
Overall, the haircuts are pretty decent. They offer some beer that tends to taste watered-down, and they’re usually good when they cut hair. But their timing and flexibility could use some major improvement.
I don’t know of any other barbershop or salon that would force a strict 45 minute requirement like this. Ask any good barber or hair stylist and they’ll tell you they can make something work in 35 minutes instead of 45 if needed.
EDIT: Owner reached out to me to apologize and admitted there should have been more flexibility. I was offered a free hair cut with the barber of my choosing. (No longer live in the area so I couldn’t accept) It’s evident they do care greatly about their customers and the quality of their service. I would still highly recommend going here, as the people are generally very friendly and care about their product. Just make sure you’re on time or be willing to argue your point if you’re a few...
Read moreI recently visited this salon and, unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory, primarily due to my appointment with Robbie. I walked in with a reference picture of the haircut I wanted, hoping for a fresh look while keeping my hair long enough to style. Instead, Robbie seemed to take the opposite approach. He buzzed the back of my head down to nearly nothing, completely missing the mark.
The whole process felt rushed, as if he were racing against the clock. He used various trimmers haphazardly, moving in all directions without any sense of precision. With my thin hair, I had been growing it out to cover certain areas, and now I’m left with very little to work with.
The shaping around my beard was especially concerning. The razor he used left me with painful bruises; while they’re not immediately visible on my dark skin, the discomfort was very real, especially when washing my face afterward.
I understand that communication can sometimes be tricky, but as a stylist, it’s essential to ask questions and clarify what the client wants rather than making assumptions. Unfortunately, Robbie seemed frustrated rather than attentive, which only added to my disappointment.
This was my first visit, and while I might consider returning to the salon in the future, I will certainly be avoiding Robbie. I hope to find a more skilled and communicative...
Read moreI had an unfavorable experience on my first visit to Livermore Barber Shop yesterday with my first hairdresser, but I am very content with my revisit today. The owner of the shop reached out to me to apologize for my experience, helped me book a touch-up appointment at no cost, and provided me a gift card. Even though my first experience wasn't what I hoped, I can tell that the establishment as a whole and the majority of the workers there are top-notch and kind. They definitely care about their customers and the quality of their cuts. I would come here again!
Amanda helped me touch up on a haircut I was originally not happy about, but I am glad she fixed it up. She was very detail oriented, patient with her cuts, and very kind. I can tell that she is experienced with her work and that she cares about her customers' experiences. I am happy with my experience and would readily suggest Amanda to those who decide...
