Extremely Disappointing Experience – Avoid The Flooring Company LLC

I wish I could say I had a positive experience with The Flooring Company LLC, but unfortunately, it was a series of miscommunications, inaccurate estimates, and poor service that left me frustrated and dissatisfied. I’m writing this review to warn others. The only positive experience, was the Initial communication with Malak, the sales rep, who was great to work with during the estimate phase. However, she went dark on installation day. I tried reaching out multiple times, but there was no response from her as the project was falling behind schedule.

Here’s what went wrong:

Inaccurate Estimate: The original estimate was inaccurate. They overestimated the expensive tile removal area and underestimated the cheaper carpet removal area. Additionally, when I installed the baseboards, I discovered they had overestimated the linear feet of baseboards removed by 25%.

Major Delays & Poor Communication:

I had to take four days off work because the job was delayed—what was supposed to be a 3-day project (Wednesday to Friday) didn’t finish until the following Monday evening. The project was originally supposed to be completed before Easter weekend, but instead, we were left waiting.

The installer didn’t show up until nearly 12 pm despite being told they would arrive between 9 am-10 am. When the installer finally showed up he told me the project would take 7 days. So I offered to help, stepped in, and contributed my own tools (including ramps and a pry bar), time, labor and helped with tile removal. In hopes of expediting the process and getting it closer to the original 3-day estimate.

If there wasn’t just one person on day 1 actually doing the work and if the dumpster had been there on time, and they had shown up as scheduled, they could have been closer to finishing by Friday. The installer made it sound like he would have more help the next day to get the job done. However, when the crew returned, they showed up with just one additional person—that’s when I really started to worry about the timeline and stepped in to expedite the job.

Disrupted Home Life:

My pregnant wife, toddler, and dog had to find somewhere else to stay because of the dust and disruption. We knowingly knew this would happen, but we only planned for 2 days, maybe 3 days at most.

The crew didn’t cover the cabinets, even though Malak had assured me they would handle it and I wouldn’t have to worry. As a result, dust and debris got inside them. My wife and mother-in-law spent hours cleaning everything, but there are still cabinets that need to be cleaned.

Rush Job & Poor Clean-Up: The crew was clearly in a rush to finish and left at the end of the day without properly cleaning up. The final job was rushed, and I didn’t even have time to properly evaluate the work because they left so quickly.

Unresolved Billing Issues:

Given the inaccurate estimate, the extra time I had to take off work, and the labor I contributed to expedite the project, I provided a revised estimate for a fair adjustment to the cost—around a 28% reduction from the original price.

Unfortunately, their response was an insulting 4% reduction from the original estimate, which didn’t even begin to cover the discrepancies or the time and effort I put in.

In the end, I was billed for the 4% reduced revised estimate, despite all these issues. I tried to work out a compromise, but after no satisfactory resolution, I’m forced to leave this review as a warning to others.

Review - We took 3 different quotes and Imad beat them all. Imad and Ali are extremely professional. We placed the order for the dreamweaver carpet on a Saturday and the installation was on next Saturday and Sunday. The installers arrived on Saturday and we faced problems with having wrong padding installed. I called Imad and he showed up and brought a new padding with him. The installers did not arrive on Sunday (apparently one installer did not want to work). They came on Monday and completed the work. I noticed that the padding installed in one of the rooms was never replaced. I saw the old padding by lifting the HVAC vent. I called Imad again and he showed up the very next day. He checked the padding and acknowledged that the padding was not his and installers did not replace it. He apologized and on the same day sent new installers to remove the carpet and replace the padding( no fuss or any questions asked).The new installer did not join the carpet correctly and the seams were seen. Imad, personally came over with the installer and ensured that it’s taken care of to best of my expectations.

Apart from the issues that I faced mainly all due to the installers, the completed work is impeccable. I would definitely recommend this company but i'd be cautious with the installers. I was going to give 2 star rating for the amount of issues I have faced, however, Imad stood behind the services provided, acknowledged the wrong (honesty is the most important factor for this 5 star rating), was prompt, got my issues resolved, apologized and gifted me the white area rug and gave a small discount for all the problems i faced. I am absolutely thrilled with my new floors and the incredible service I received from this company! From start to finish, the entire experience was seamless and exceeded all my expectations.

It all began with the initial consultation with Imad. He was knowledgeable and patient, helping my wife and I choose the perfect option for our home without any pressure. The very next day, Malak came to our house for the measurements. She was kind, precise, and answered all of our questions.

What truly amazed me was the price. I had received several quotes from other local companies, and their price was significantly better than all the others, without any compromise on quality.

Additionally, the installation was fantastic— Sam and his crew were punctual, efficient, and their craftsmanship was top-notch. There is not a single spot in my floor that creaks or dips when you step on it. The best part? The entire process, from that first consultation to walking on my beautiful new floors, was completed in less than a week!
