Model Town — Attraction in Lombard

I absolutely loved this store. It stocks a variety of Islamic art, decor, household items, clothing and accessories, children's books and toys and so much more. It truly felt like an art gallery showcasing different Islamic cultures from around the world. And the staff was so friendly and welcoming!

Growing up in a world where the only Islamic decor were cheap plastic or wooden items from the halal grocery stores, it makes me so happy to see new Islamic boutiques start to pop up with high quality modern decorations that I would actually purchase to adorn my home, and Model Town is the best one yet!

They even have Islamic inspired western clothing which is a gap in the market that I have wanted to see filled for a while now. I'm not one to wear abayas (though theirs were gorgeous) but I do need more modest shirts and hoodies in my life and now I know where to go to get some!

Model Town is such a unique concept, and I have to commend the owners for their hard work and dedication. Sourcing from so many vendors—especially finding high-quality ones in a market full of micro-brands—is no easy task. It’s refreshing to see some of the best products all in one place.

I also love the store’s simplicity, clean aesthetic, and commitment to honesty and great customer service. Plus, the events they host bring such a strong sense of community! They have everything from clothing and kurtas to prints, paintings, housewares, and candles. Think apothecary—but better.

We need more community-oriented businesses like this, so please support them! The owners are genuine and thoughtful, always willing to cater to your needs. I’m excited to see how this idea grows and where it takes them. Keep an eye out for their events and their creative approach...

Model Town is a truly beautifully curated space. As an out-of-towner, I was immediately struck by the thoughtful layout and welcoming aesthetic as soon as I walked in. It was clear that every detail - from the displays to the diverse range of products - has been designed with care and intention.

I loved seeing so many artists and creatives represented in one place. The selection is not only high-quality but also refreshingly unique and inclusive. Incredibly inspiring to experience a marketplace that so passionately supports small and independent brands. I hope we see more spaces like this in communities across the country!
