Want to buy from a pretentious and unfriendly small business who could care less if you shop there? FairyTales is the place for you!
Want to feel valued as a customer, be acknowledged and maybe even thanked for the purchase? DO NOT SHOP AT FAIRY TALES because you donât get any of it!
Shopped here twice in person. Iâm 45 mins away so itâs a drive to shop here. First time was over Christmas. Walked in and there were maybe 2 or 3 customers browsing. We knew what we wanted so after a quick browse ourselves, my husband and I proceeded to the JellyCat stuff animals area. The ladies working behind the counter didnât even look up to say hello at any time. They never acknowledged any customer. We had to ask for pricing because they have a sign that says the vendor doesnât allow them to price items. That wasnât very convenient since we had a few items in mind and a budget (teenager was paying). We found an item, purchased it, and asked for a box which they didnât have. They put it in white bag that was too small. It was rainy, snowy outside. I asked for a bigger bag to protect our purchase. The older lady behaved as if I asked for a diamond encrusted box. She pulled out the stuffed animal, tossed the white bag down, and grabbed a FairyTales bag throwing in the stuffed animal. It fit nicer and was a pretty bag. She dropped it on the counter and walked away. No, âThank you.â No, âMerry Christmas.â No, lHave a good day.â Not a word!
Fast forward todayâs shopping experience. My sons and I walked in and there werenât any other customers in the store. No greeting, no hello, not even an offer to help us. My son wanted another JellyCat stuffed animal and we walked to the back of the store where theyâre located. He found what he wanted and went to pay. The young lady working the register was quick about the sale. At the end, she pushed the stuffed animal toward my son expecting him to walk out with it, no bag just stuffed animal in hand. I spoke up and asked for bag for it. The older lady behind the counter took the stuffed animal and shoved it into a tiny white bag with no tissue and tossed it on the counter. The bag was too small for the purchase with 1/2 of it sticking out. I asked for a nicer bag or wrap for the purchase since it was a gift. The reply was that they didnât have their nice FairyTales bag in a smaller size and then older lady turned her back ending any further discussion.
How they survive is beyond me since the people working here are not very polite or helpful! We left with a gift tossed into a too small white bag. This is one business NOT worthy of my hard-earned money anymore because clearly they donât care about customers or...
Read moreResponse to owner's response (03.11.25): What an interesting response since no one in the shop spoke to me and I spoke with no one. Why would someone have this interaction just to later take the time to post a lie? I'm trusting that your staff did in fact speak with a blonde yesterday (since my hair is blonde in my profile) but as that's no longer my hair color, you are unfortunately mistaken. I don't need another private shopping experience, as that's exactly what I had yesterday, but I would be more than happy to come in, review footage with you and show you exactly who I was so you can correct your response. Please let me know for whom I should ask when I call in for that service.
Original Review (03.10.25): Iâm so glad to see ownersâ responses that they review cameras to verify your shopping experience when you arenât spoken to at all during your entrance, browsing or exit so that theyâll review mine and get their staff trained properly. The only person that spoke to me was the contractor decorating the entrance out front who said âthey have cute stuff in there!â as I complimented her door design on my way in. Iâve driven past while going to other shops and restaurants in this little area and always notice the charming window displays. I went in today and there were four employees/contractors in store and only me shopping. No one spoke a word to me. No nod. No glance in my direction. Everyone was clearly busy redecorating for spring, questioning a shipment of new Hello Kitty merch that there wasnât an invoice for, calling a supplier to get more of something because they kept selling out, etc. But not one person said hello, asked if I needed any help (even when I peeked through the locked figuring curios, picked up onesies, looked through the chip tray ornaments), or said goodbye. Iâve never felt so invisible. It was genuinely shocking. The space is adorable and the merchandise so well-curated, but the most basic customer service doesn't exist. Such a...
Read moreI bought a Vanilla Visa reloadable gift card from Walmart. The card was acting up so I called and the number got intercepted or hacked by a hacker. I thought I got it activated but what I didnt know was the guy was the hacker who took my card number and went to this store and bought over $300 worth of stuff. This money was stolen. I called this company and we identified what they bought by matching it to the amount that was stolen from my card. They told me how sorry they was and they thought it was a fraudulent order and they would look into it. I enplaned to them I have the receipt of the vanilla card proof it was my card and it was stolen. I called them for 3 days in a row. The 3rd day they told me they fulfilled the order all fully knowing it was stolen money. This small business aint no better than the theif who stole the $300 from my card. I told them it was to buy christmas and was given to us by the church. But This place was just as scummy as the thief. I would never purchase anything from them for...
