Just had my first jump today with Zach at 13k ft. He was very helpful in both getting me amped up and mellowed out. I felt as comfortable as one possibly could for their first time jumping out of a plane. Very kind, informative, clear instructions, made me laugh, I felt very safe and comfortable with him. Everyone that works there is really so kind and comforting!
I think Iāll have to come back to do the higher jump! :)
The only thing I want to mention is about the video I received. i canāt quiiiite put my finger on it but something about the camera work and the speed of the frame rate feels a littleā¦. off, granted I donāt expect perfect camera work when jumping out of a plane, Iām sure he did his best. I was also too nervous to pretend to be photogenic which Iām sure affected it. Plus the weather was a bit cloudy so the pics werenāt quite what I was hoping for but thatās literally NO ONEās fault, Iāll just come back on a better weather day. Although there is a moment where he was doing a countdown in front of the camera and his hand kinda blocked my face (when it finally stopped looking flappy) š
But I showed the video to some friends and we all couldnāt stop laughing because it seemed like something that might be the intro of a video that could be found on a questionable website if you get my drift. Perhaps itās the music choice? Iām not sure. Itās not even a complaint really, Iām grateful to have this absolute gem to watch and laugh at anytime I feel down. Iāve been laughing for 15 mins on and off since watching it, which could also be the adrenaline come down. Perhaps my friends and I also just have twisted minds.
But maybe choose diff music for that intro graphic and then for the rest of the video, donāt put music and just let it be the raw...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad a great time with folks Sky dive santa barbara. The drop zone is the beautiful Pacific ocean, spanning vineyards and expansive mountain views. My first sky dive was in Dubai, I must say, this has been a better experience because I had fun with our instructors Sean M. and Tim. Very professional and friendly. The place has like family feel into it and slower pace compared to Dubaiās facility. The experience above 13,000 feet was exhilarating and freezing! Made us thirsty and throat sore after the jump! Perfect to have wine after :) With this sky dive, we did not have a separate photographer unlike in Dubai, where someone free falling ahead of you taking pictures. I gave it a 4 coz this facility could make some room for improving their videography. The sounds were muffled too unlike in Dubai. I suggest improving their tools for that. But, experience wise, this has been more fun, learned from first skydive and used that for a better jump this time around. I still need advise on how other tandem skydivers get their nice photos coz I still looked like a clown in my pictures. Its hard to get a cool picture when your facial muscles are freezing and your free falling at the same time :) And you get a certificate which is a cool bonus! Dubai did not have that Kudos to the team! Thank you for another...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJumped 10/21 Skydiving is dangerous. My husband and I flew in from Baton Rouge and jumped for our first time at 18,000 feet for his 60th birthday bucket list. We were delayed over an hour because the plane was overheated. He was the first jumper, but last down, because they had to do a ācut awayā of the original shoot since it would not deploy and use the reserve. I had already landed, and watched him land hard with the reserve shoot. He stood up and thought he had pulled his hamstring, and was able to walk away to go in and buy a T-shirt. Later, after dinner, he complained that it was swelling, so we went back to the hotel and iced it. Next morning I insisted we go to an urgent care down the street from our hotel. He passed out on the way to the parking lot and hit face first on the ground. Ambulance came and he spent the next five days in the trauma hospital with a hematoma to the thigh. After a blood transfusion, we were able to Amtrak train home since he has not released to fly. Everyone knows the dangers of skydiving, but I wanted to let everyone know that they are real and ours resulted in $10,000+ in medical bills and a week off of work. We paid for video coverage, but his was extremely short, and did not show any of the struggles that he had on...
